Should I renew Beachbody On Demand?

I've been so unmotivated since the CoVid. I have tons of DVDs and equipment but dragging my rear end upstairs to my workout room is a major feat! I had BOD last year and it lapsed in October and I didn't renew. Is there anything new and exciting on BOD that would be worth spending a 100 bucks for? I'm waiting on Cathe's and KCM's new DVDs but I'm not sure that's going to get me up and moving!

Since October I think “The Prep” and “The Work”, and Morning Meltdown 100 have been put on BOD. In Sept they are adding 10 Rounds with Joel Freeman to the library.

Muscle Burns Fat & Muscle Burns Fat Advanced is going to be available to the general public for early access for a fee (usually $48 ish with just workouts not supplements or equipment if needed). I’m on the fence with this one but will buy the early access to Idalis Velazquez’s running program coming out in Oct.

Here’s the previews:

The Work:
*There is a non-explicit version available which I prefer. *

I had a BOD subscription for a year and chose not to renew. I like the older stuff.

I was glad I didn't renew when the new instructors started to use bad language.

I might re-subscribe of they had something new and interesting to me.

Kathy are you saying that on top of your subscription you'd have to pay extra for access to a new program?

Yes, it’s to get early access to the program before they add it to the BOD library that everyone with a regular subscription has access to (for the $99 yearly fee).

It will show up in your program library as unlocked after you purchase.

And after considering it for a few minutes after I received the email, I bought the MBF & MBFA early access. It was an additional $49.95 purchase. They only gave me access to the MBF workouts and the MBFA workouts will be released on 8/17/20.

The weight work looks like a combo of one-side at a time moves and metabolic multiple movements. The fake jump rope looks like the one that was used in JNL Fusion. I still have it somewhere or I’ll just use my step instead for the cardio segments.

It looks interesting and there’s a lot packed into the 25 -35 minutes. There’s a lower body, upper body, total body, two core circuits, metabolic type workout, and a stretch. Both programs are three weeks each, similar to 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme.

I’m hoping I can do most of the moves but my other shoulder is giving me grief. I had calcific tendonitis in my right shoulder last year and now that it’s healed, it started in my left shoulder, too. I have an appt. with the dr. next week and he’ll probably give me a cortisone shot like last time.

Thanks Kathy for the links. I was thinking about re-subscribing to BOD for the 10 rounds program but man he talked way too much in the workout on the link and it seemed slow. I don't know if I would work up a sweat or not. I like the format of 3 minute rounds but from what I watched the punching seemed slow and then you get 45 second rest between rounds.

The other programs didn't interest me. Why does everything seem to be so high impact.

Autumn also has a program control freak coming

I am glad I know how to modify, but you're right. Enough already.

Makes me wonder if it's easier to create a workout with high instead of low impact. But geez, how hard is it to have ONE background exerciser modifying??

.

For MBF can one buy digital downloads or do we need a full BOD subscription? And then lose access to the workouts if we don't renew?

Yes, you need the base BOD subscription to buy the early access.

They aren’t downloads just access to programs that haven’t been released to the general BOD library yet. So you’re really just paying for a 4-6 month early access and once they’re released, everyone else with a BOD subscription will have access too.

If you decide not to renew your basic BOD subscription, you lose access to all of it.
