I wonder how much of a workout your abs get when you have a cold?

Meaning when you cough a lot when you have a cold, I wonder how much of a workout do your abs get?

Agreed.

I'm recovering from a hysterectomy at the moment (doing just fine, thanks!) and every cough and sneeze has the potential to be traumatic, mostly because they involve so many ab muscles. Whew.

Anna- I feel your pain, had an abdominal hyst several years ago. Who knew that we had so many ab muscles and that we use them for many little movements! And coughing and sneezing, yikes! I wish you a speedy recovery!

Thanks!

Little movements, indeed. Every day is better, but I'm constantly reminded to go easy, because my innards won't let me forget it. For the moment I'm content to think of all this as an excuse to take a couple of naps every day. And hey, I really am sleeping better now. Gotta look on the bright side, without rolling over in a hurry.

Weirdly, sitting still, in a chair (any chair) is pretty much the most uncomfortable thing.

not coughing, but "Laugh Your Abs Away" is an actual workout - here's a VF thread I started on the subject:

Laugh Your Abs Away
