For me, Brazil Butt Lift and barre, especially Suzanne Bowen's workouts, do the trick. TA gave me a flat butt. . So asking here can be dangerous, as you'll get totally different opinions that can lead to serious spending.

By the way, Welcome!!

Hi Jane and Sinclair!

I have a spin bike at home. My BF prefers the gym so I will go with him on the weekends and use the upright bike. Prior to my TA rotation I was doing 30 to 60 minute sessions at least 3x per week, sometimes 4 or 5. I did grow to miss my other forms of cardio, but I have always done at least 2 spin sessions per week.

With my TA rotation I am doing 2x 30 minute spin sessions during the week and 1 60 minute session on the weekends.

Here are some of the DVDs/Downloads I use when I work out at home:

Spinervals - Coach Troy used to be my favorite...

Virtual Active Bike/Cycle DVDs - BEAUTIFUL scenery, high production values, but a bit pricy. 30 minute format makes them perfect for add-ons

The Sufferfest downloads - footage of actual cycle races, plus some humorous on-screen commentary to add a comedic element. I have all of these and they are my favorites!

RIDES DVD series from Endurance Films - High production values, great music, on-screen facts an motivational quotes. I have Vol. 1-9 of these and love them, too!

Schwinn Cycle Series with Jay Blahnik is a good, motivating DVD as well

I have several of the Spinning DVDs, Mindy Mylrea's cycle DVDs and all of Cathe's. They are OK but I don't reach for them as much as the ones mentioned above.

I have taken a few spin classes but at my gym you are required to sign up 24 hours in advance. I can't plan my weekends like that so I just use the bike on my own!

HTH!

Two of my favorite floor work DVDs are Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout (worth it just for the floor leg work IMO) & Strong Strides by Lisa Watson. Cathe Friedrich has some good floorwork segments on some of her strength DVDs. Pure Strength Legs, Butts and Guts, Great Glutes come to mind immediately. While not floor work, Cathe's Turbo Barre is also a great leg routine.

Thank you so much, Adrien! I'm happy to see the Spinervals on your list since I really want to try these. I also checked out the Sufferfest downloads and there are so many
Any chance you might be able to tell me your favorites for Spinervals and Sufferfest? **puppy dog eyes**

Hi and welcome to vf!

I had very good luck with reducing saddlebags by rotating through the Firm Classics vols. 1,2,3 several years ago. I think vol. 1 alone, if used once or twice a week would possibly help. If you're not familiar with it, it's got a great, tough floorwork section.

Hope this helps!

I think everybody (and every body) is so different! For me, I got my best butt ever from Brazil Butt Lift. I *really* like what running is doing for my legs (particularly the outer lower hips/saddlebag area)... but I'm losing my BBL butt! Maybe I should add a day of Bum Bum back into my current routine....

Cathe's "High Step Training Advance" circuit dvd. She does a ton of step ups. There are good premixes too. This workout still gets my legs every time, and I also still get breathless from some of the cardio segments.

Cathe Freidrich has been my lower body fairy godmother. LOL She has shaped me up down there like nothing and nobody else.

Favorites:

Butts and Guts
Lower Body Trisets
Lower Body Blast
Cardio Leg Blast
XTrain Legs (liking this one more and more with time)
Gym Style Legs
Pyramid Lower Body
Pretty much all the STS lower body workouts

Good luck! Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out what style of workout your body responds to best. I tend to do better when I do at least one heavy-ish weight dvd a week for my lower half. High reps and barre do very little for me. HTH!

Well, this is tough but I will try. I LOVE all of the Sufferfest workouts. Some are long, some are short.
Hell Hath No Fury and Local Hero are probably my most-used.

Spinervals is similar in that there are all different lengths and intensities. I seem to gravitate toward the hour-ish ones.
  • Lean & Mean with VF
  • The Pain Cave
  • Timesaver (love the versatility of the 30 minute workouts)'
  • Team Sports Training - No Limits!
  • Team Sports Training - 4th Quarter Grind
(The last 2 feature Ray Lewis. Not a fan, but I like the format)

Also when I first started buying Spinervals I would buy an entire series at a time. They are usually filmed in the same set. I find that I like the variety of different sets and participants. So, you might not want to pick ones that all have matching covers!
