Happy almost summer!

I just started a new one in the Booktown mystery series, Clause of Death - well, I started yesterday but believe I am 3/4 through already!

No I haven't read that yet - will add it to the list!

Recently, I've read:

The Lost English Girl by Julia Kelly, one of my favorite authors. I just started it, but it has pulled me in.

Identity by Nora Roberts - This book was familiar because she has written similar books before. But I still enjoyed the story and the characters.

The Stranded by Sarah Viner-Daniels, a YA dystopian book set on a cruise ship. Given how many cruises I have been on, I enjoyed that aspect of the story. And I thought this book was pretty good. There were some gaps in the writing, but it all holds together pretty well in the end.

The Tour by Jean Grainger. This is one of her books that pulls me in with a good story and likable characters.

Queen of Oak by Melanie Karsak, a novel about Boudica. I'm enjoying this. It's a good historical novel.

Beth and Schnauzeritis - I thought of another one: The Authenticity Project, by Clare Pooley (and she has another book that’s also good).

I’ve added the Missy Carmichael book to my TBR.

Also, Beth, unless you hate Book Lovers, you might enjoy Beach Read by Emily Henry. That one was my favorite, although it may be because it resonates with me for various reasons. Even so, delightful banter. :-)

Trixoo thanks for the additional suggestions!

For "delightful banter," I love Jennifer Crusie's Agnus and the Hitman when I read it years ago. I recently read another from her that I liked, but not as much.

Thanks, Beth. Adding it to my TBR. I read a fair amount of romance because it helps with work stress…there’s always a happy resolution.

I like a good romance too, although now that I'm in my mid-50s, I get a little impatient with 20s-something "chick lit" (although I still read it). That's probably why I like the quirky stories with the heartwarming endings, especially when they feature older characters.

I just bought The Stranded Kindle version. You had me at cruises, lol. I enjoyed the Hunger Games books so I’m sure I’ll like this one too. I’ll keep your caveats in mind.

Enjoy! It's definitely in the same genre as The Hunger Games trilogy. I liked The Hunger Games better, but both were good.
