Also thinking of The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates. My friend is giving it to me. Anyone read it?

I want to read this. My library has it on order. Not sure when it will come in, but I placed a hold on it.

I just finished Love and Other Consolation Prizes by Jamie Ford and it was excellent. Next up is The End of October by Lawrence Wright, which is about a pandemic. Apparently, it published right before our current pandemic, so even though this is fiction, reviews say it's eerily similar to what we're currently dealing with. Should be interesting...

I've been so happy to be able to actually go in the library! They have a fairly elaborate system of appointments and procedures in place, but it's such a relief to be able to just pick something at random (even if you do have to put the stuff you touch and don't want to check out in a basket for their cleaning procedures). The curbside pickup is actually easier, and doesn't keep somebody else from having actual reference time in the library, so I do plan to mostly use that instead.

Just lately picked up Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett, and Lud in the Mist (don't recall the author.) Got The Color of Water on cd so I can rip it to mp3 to play in the car. Longer drives are so much easier with a book to listen to.

In terms of self care stuff, I've been exploring stillness meditation and like it a lot. The one I'm looking into is based on the work of Ainsley Meares. Very simple and straightforward stuff, which might be just what I need, so I thought I'd learn more about those techniques.

Also working my way through the Bullet Journal book, taking copious notes for future reference. I'm learning a lot from various Youtubers, but I also like being able to go straight to the original source.

I just finished it. It was slightly dragged out but well written. My library has her other books, which I want to read. I have ten books I am on the waitlist for, so I cannot request them yet. The limit is ten.

I’ve been reading The Two Mrs. Carlyles by Suzanne Rendell, but I’m not sure I’m going to continue with it, because it’s taking forever for the story to go anywhere. The writing isn’t the best, either. I think I’ll put it aside and start on His Truth Is Marching On by Jon Meacham.

I am sad to say I am having trouble getting into Jodi Picoult's newest book.

I am reading two psychological suspense books. Both are really holding my interest:

The Half Sister by Sandie Jones

All the Lovely Pieces by JM Winchester

Beth, yes I've listened to the first two stories and I'm almost finished with the third one (Holly).

The first one was kind of predictable and I really didn't get the second one that much. My daughter listened too and we were both like what??? Lol! I am enjoying the Holly Berry story though since I listened to the Outsider, too.

I'm reading The Alice Network by Kate Quinn. Just started it and so far it's good.
