Just curious if anyone else's main motivation for workingout regularly is for the enjoyment of it or just having a good time, even fun?
I see some folks doing stuff they do not even enjoy chasing promised results.
For me, workingout is my playtime, the best part of my day and my main desired result is feeling good during and after a workout.

who is wondering if there are any other potential playmates out there for a checkin?
Yes - that fit's me precisely. And you know what? - I've always been like that. When I ran track in college, I love the workouts more than the meets. I simply loved to train but didn't like racing because it got me nervous.
OK - I also do it for the health benefits but at this point I'm healthy and my weight is not an issue. So I really am doing it for the fun of it. I just love to train!

Who has always like the way Barb puts a final thought after her name and is also very surprised that someone else works out for the sheer fun of it.

I really enjoy working out too. I DO find it fun. I also like the process of getting in better shape. I don't think those two things are mutually exclusive.
I guess there are a number of people who don't look forward to their exercise time, do it because they feel they should, don't actually have fun at the time of the workout - do it for health benefits only. But there must be an equal number who really like it,and - as you say - find it fun, I think.

And then there are those of us who don't look forward to exercising, but, once involved in it, have a really good time and wonder why they didn't look forward to it before...
Those of us in this category are just plain conflicted.

Me too! I love working out & would happily work out for several hours a day if I could. I also love many different kinds of workouts . Maybe that's why I'm a vidiot?
I couldn't care less about "results". The reward is in the doing for me, at least as far as yoga goes.
I do strength and cardio to give me a good foundation for a healthy, active life, although I enjoy the strength -- tolerate the cardio. So maybe that's "results". If so, yoga is the enjoyment of the "results".

Me too. Fitness really is my passion. You wouldn't believe how many hours of the day I spend thinking about different aspects of it. I love my workout time!

There are many things that bring me to exercise (weight control, staying healthy on a myriad of levels, attitude adjustment, etc.). BUT, it's the sheer joy of it that keeps me coming back for more. I LOVE my exercise time . It's definitely my playtime.
Ah but, maybe it's just those wonderful endorphins?
