more info from Kimberly on her DVD 'Triple Threat'

I emailed Kimberly for more info on her 'Triple Threat' workout. Her's here reply:

Triple Threat is a video that I shot here in Columbus, OH this past December with a great production company called AVS Video Production. There are three separate workouts that are approximately 30 minutes each. The "Cardio Kickboxing" is non-stop cardio and would be considered Int/Adv.

The "Functional Power" workout - performed with a 4 lb medicine ball - is considered Intermediate; however, I've learned through users that most levels can complete the workout even if it means placing the ball down or simply using a lighter weight ball such as a basketball, soccer ball, etc..
In the video, I do have one back-up using a basketball to show that very option.

The final workout is "Go With The Flow" and would definitely be in the category of Multi-level. It's just easy-to-follow, low-impact, rhythmic movement that focuses on strength, flexibility and balance. People often are intimidated by "balance challenges"; but, I always say it's like any other component of physical fitness...the more you practice and challenge your body...the better and stronger you get!!

The bonus on the video would be the bloopers at the end. Sometimes I think we, as instructors, take ourselves too seriously which is sad because we truly have the best job in the entire world!!! Well, I figured why edit out and cover up the bloopers???!!!

I hope that helps; but, if any other questions come up, feel free to contact me anytime!!

She sure seems down to earth & enthusiastic. I'm assuming these workouts are very high-impact. I'm going to see if any reviews roll in...

Dawn,

Just curious - why do you think these workouts are very high impact?

Glow with the flow is one of my favorite mottos. I ordered this DVD and I'll post my opinion after I preview it.

possibly high-impact

Donna & doskymom,

When I was at SaraCity's Cardio Classic in March I remember hearing that somebody took a boot camp class with Kimberly at either her club in Columbus OH or at AtlantaMANIA and said it was very high impact with lots of sports moves.

This doesn't mean that her DVD workout will be the same and it is entirely possible that I've got the wrong instructor, my memory isn't as good as it used to be

I'll be excited to hear the reviews on "Triple Threat". There is a class named "Triple Cardio Challenge" at Kimberly's LifeTime Fitness gym in Columbus and the description mentions a jump rope...
