Kettlebell or DB - Workouts That Do KB Like Movements?

With all of the recent workouts on the market incorporating kettlebell like moves like the Swing, etc. Do you use DBs like they do in the videos with the thought that it will be a different type of movement, therefore, crosstraining, or do you use your kettlebells when they do KB like moves with DBs?

I can't believe the amount of workouts incorporating these movements lately.

I just got the Michelle Olson one for legs and abs and she does KB swings with a DB and this made me start thinking the above.

I believe Ilaria made one last year that uses dumbbells but incorporates kettlebell type of moves.

Atletica.

Also, I think one of KCM's DVDs is like that.

A lof of funtional moves have been taken from KB training

Since I have the Kettlebells, I use them for the swings, chops, and figure 8, tactical lunges, etc. Atletica, has Kb moves modified with dumbells, Timesaver Extreme has some moves also. KB offers a lot of funtional moves. Patrick's Lean Hot Body, Michelle Olson, Jilliam, even some of Cathe moves have been adapted from Russian Kettlebell training. Now, that I have been doing real KB training I recognize the moves.

so I guess that using a DB won't make the workout different enough to consider doing so?

Doing a swing with a dumbbell does feel different than using a kettlebell. However, because of the shape of the kettlebell, I feel I get more out of the swing movement using a kb than a db. I can say that about other kb movements like the snatch. That's why I use a kb. But the workouts that do incorporate kb moves but use dbs also have a lot of moves where using a kb would be difficult. That's why for workouts like Ilaria's Atletica, Bob's Rev Cardio Conditioning, I use dumbbells unless they do a kb movement.

Yes, it's one of the workouts on KCM's L.I.F.T. The other workout is Olympic-style lifting.
