Good Morning,
Friday I did the "Slim You Legs" and "Trim Your Tummy" 14-min walks from Leslie's 5 Day Slim Down. I also did some of the "Classic Walk" during the morning. Made it to over 10,500 steps for the day.
Yesterday I did Leslie's 3-Mile AHA Walk late at night. Made it to over 10,000 steps for the day. While I am not necessarily trying to keep a streak going, I am up to 11 days with over 10,000 steps.
While I am glad to be up and moving with Leslie, Nora's posts have reminded me that I am in no way cross-training, and so I would like to do better with that. I'm thinking about it . . . I don't know why I'm having such a hard time getting myself to do something other than cardio.
SB - Great job with your outdoor walks and LWC workout!
Nice to hear that y'all got a spring-like day after dealing with snow and wind for several days. About the pedometer. So, I have a good friend who was lamenting that she was inconsistently walking and wanted to do better, so I decided to get her a fitness tracker for the Christmas before last. Since I wasn't sure she'd be into it, I decided to get her the most basic Fitbit, the Inspire. It was around $99 at the time which was more than I wanted to spend. So, I spent a lot of time looking into Fitbit knockoffs. Amazon has a lot of them that are in the $25-50 range, which was more of my price range. I started to get her the Amazfit (Amazon fitness tracker) which was in the $30-40 price range (it's currently $34.99 on Amazon), but I was hesitant to get her a tracker that I was not familiar with. So, I kept my eye on the Inspire and when it went down to price (to around $80), I used my Amazon points to get it for $40. It was a good choice, and my friend really likes it.
The Fitbit Inspire 2 is currently around $55 on Amazon (I think it's down in price because they have come out with an Inspire 3, which costs more). That would be my recommendation, but if you're worried that a Fitbit will be too complicated (it's not!
), or if that is more than you want to spend, there are lots of Fitness trackers, like the Amazfit, in the $19-40 range, which is probably about what you would spend for a good pedometer. I know you don't need trackers to feel motivated to walk, but something to think about!
Nora - You're doing a great job with your workouts and inspiring me to think more about cross-training!
I'm still using LoseIt, but mostly these days it's just showing me that I am overeating.
Hope you both have a great day!
