Quick post and run - yesterday was a big fat zero in the fitness department. I worked late, had hoped to do Lee's live class, but was still at the desk. This AM, I'm trying to put myself in the Stealth fitness mindset - such as when I stood up to go to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee a few minutes ago, I did 10 sit to stands, so hopefully I can make a game of it and get in multiple sets of a variety of exercises.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3zKnLWKd_ys Here's a short YT video from Matt at Upright Health on stretching the groin. Absolutely no rocket science here, but for those of us with wonky hips, the reminder to use props to raise your supporting knee up and relieve some of the potential discomfort from the stretch could make a big difference (going from "Woo, this really hurts" to perhaps "OK, this is definitely something I need to work on, but it's bearable"), so I wanted to share. I also wanted to make sure the instructors had this - as yoga students with limited mobility doing gate pose might find the prop option to be helpful. Pat - My first full-time paying job was a typist/file clerk at an insurance company and I worked for peanuts. I was as low on the food chain as one could go, so your comment most assuredly resonated with me. I knew I couldn't spend the rest of my life doing that job and needed more education and skills in order to have a better quality of life. It was great motivation! Beth - I'm sure you'll do a great job of holding down the fort this week. Hopefully the planets and stars will be in alignment and crisis management won't be a problem - fingers crossed. Sending more healing vibes to your DH. Pam - I did a quick preview of the Helen Clare video - thanks for the link. Looks like you had a great mix of practices yesterday. Keep us posted on how you use the TRX system. I've always wanted one of those, but really don't know where in the heck I'd put it! Sandra - I envy the pension, as that's something neither DH or I have. With all the craziness in the economy/financial industry, it's hard not to worry about how that, along with many predicting a recession, will impact our savings/retirement funds. I must admit, I'm starting to get some short-timers syndrome. With all the stress secondary to the transition at work that extended for months, far more things cause me to sit here and think "you must be kidding!" I wouldn't be surprised if those don't become a cumulative source of irritation and will make a big impact on pushing me to pick a retirement date. Paine - I'm amazed that I've been as OK as I have at having another person pick my produce at the Whole Wallet! Gotta get something wrapped up this morning, so I need to get back to work. Waves to ALL!

Cyana: I forgot to add that I also have a chunk of retirement funds in a 453b account, but I'm trying not to touch it until I absolutely have to. I also live in a paid-for townhome that I inherited, so no rent or mortgage. One of my motivators in picking a retirement date was a change in the library director. The previous director was energetic and innovative. Her replacement came off as a huge step down. I figured a lot of stuff was likely to change and I decided not to go along for the ride.

Sandra, my co-worker who is 2 years older than me and I joke that we are not going through another administration change! Luckily right now we are in a good place - I get along well with my boss, and we both like the department's executive director (who is her boss). She tentatively thinks she will retire at age 62, as she is on a slightly different plan than I am and has a penalty before that date. But that makes my own tentative date age 60.
cyana, my boss and I went over a plan today for when he'll be out (actually tomorrow through all of next week). It could be fine, but there are so many unknown variables that it's hard not to worry. Matt's videos are helpful! Happy Tuesday all.
