Need Help with book/info

I'm looking for a book on insulin resistance/cortisol. There are many out there! What I'm not looking for is a book with tons of recipes I'll never make. In fact, I don't need any recipes, I can figure that part out. I'm not looking for a book that pushes the authors supplements. I'd love to find a book with some, but not too much to make the book unnecessarily wordy/long, scientific info and also some basic "eat this, avoid that" info along with a basic workout plan if possible. Any suggestions?? I've been gaining alot of weight recently with menopause and stress and have a strong family history of type 2 diabetes/insulin resistance and I'm heading there. I'd like to reverse/halt some of this! Thank you!!

I have the book "The PRE-DIABETES DIET PLAN" by Hillary Wright. She is a registered dietician and specializes in diabetes prevention through healthy eating and exercise. I have found it to be very helpful and I need to re-commit to it. BTW no recipes-just a lot of good information.

I might have something that I could mail you. I'm getting rid of a lot of books. I'll look and see what I can find.

Mastering Diabetes may be helpful. The dietary advice would be the same.

I highly recommend Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes. He clearly explains what's happening in the body in diabetes and pre-diabetes and what to do about it. It does have a few meal plans and recipes in the back, but that's not its focus. Another along the same line is Mastering Diabetes, by Cyrus Khambatta and Robby Barbaro. Both are excellent.

Yours in fitness and health.

Writing these all down.
Diagnosed with Type 2 back in March. Well controlled by some meds, and a 21lbs weight loss, but hey, I want to drop 25lb more (at least) and see if I could come off the meds, or cut them down even more.

Did a search on Andrew Huberman's Podcast for insulin & cortisol for you.

This one, in particular, at 10:06 talks about unsulin

His videos are chaptered within YouTube, which is very helpful.

He's always focused on evidence, science, research and have heard other science focused podcasts refer to him in glowing tones for science-based but ALSO offering real ways to USE the science in your life.

Poke around the titles to see if something twigs your interest - hope he can help you.

I have put T2 into remission using the concepts in End Your Carb Confusion. https://www.amazon.com/End-Your-Carb.../dp/1628604298

It has medically sound information about blood sugar and insulin resistance written for the lay person. Exercise is discussed, but not a formal plan.
