Phrases you hear on videos, but never in real life (fun Friday thread?)

I was watching the intro to one of Cathe's strength tapes and she explained that one exercise will "recruit different muscle fibers". It struck me that that was something I would probably never say in normal conversation. Then I thought about what else would sound really weird outside the realm of fitness videos.

"Stack the vertabra(e) one on top of the other" came to mind, as did anything from a yoga video

Anything else?

In Firm workouts, they often say "sit through," which I never hear in "real life," nor on any other workout!

They say something like, "Step up on the box with your arms." in one of the FIRM videos. That always cracks me up.

How about "engage your core"?

My own personal favorite would have to be when Billy Blanks says "Squeeze your buttocks! Learn something about yourself!" in Tae Bo II Get Ripped Basic. Ha.

My husband cracks up every time Emily Welsh says "woo! Gettin' down with the Fanny Lifter" on CA&WT.

Tee Hee!

"That's the way to work!"

"Build muscle memory!"

Good thread!

Lift your buttocks.(I guess pretty much any sentence with the words buttocks, obliques, or any other muscle - these words are rarely used irl.)

My favorite has always been, "Don't forget to breathe."

How about "navel to spine" and variations thereof in Pilates-based workouts?
