Happy New Year!

I finished season 4 of Supernatural after the ball drop. Helen, I don't know if you're like me, but it's a good thing a whole season isn't on one disc or I might never stop! My hips are definitely feeling the binge-a-thon. I will workout tonight at my VF Marathon time slot and get back in the groove but I do still have 44 more episodes before I can get to the DVR so more power watching today and then tmrw night after D&D. I will probably have to delete the last yoga episodes on the DVR so it doesn't get too full and delete stuff.

Currently trying to convince myself to change clothes and brace the -28 wind chill for a short quick walk with my bubby.

Tried to really jump, but the sniffles/cough wouldn't let me, and anything even partially inverted (eg standing forward fold) wasn't happening either (nose), so started gently with

Sat, 2nd-Jan
2-hour walk with Alice
Meditation - with Calm App, 10min

VANNIE
• I'm a tilt-doll - fall asleep when horizontal for very long. Movie-length viewing session (1.5 - 2 hrs) is about my limit.
• That level of cold to be out in, sounds dangerous - for frostbite. No WAY I'd be out in it - VERY short and VERY quick I hope! I even looked it up. Frostbite... ...typically any temperature below -0.55C (31F). TAKE CARE!!
• You've done SO MUCH planning!!

Sunday 02-Jan

3 hour walk with Alice - gentle pace as it was warm and kept to shade as much as possible. After setting our direction towards down-town rather than the nearest parks, I let her choose - she knows enough to make informed decisions Up the shaded mall, to the community garden, then the beach. Good choices!
I'm still sniffy - but bought psuedoephedrine yesterday, so the start of the first REAL week (Monday) should be strong.

Helen, you go for longs walks while Vannie and I suffer the below zero windchills. I hope you feel better soon.

On to the first real week. Let us all be strong.

I can't imagine a 3 hour walk even in warmer weather! Hike yes, but walk in town no way!

Helen, I bundle up really good and keep an eye on Cyric when it's cold out. We're both pretty hardy but in these dangerous wind chills our walks have only been about 15 min or less.

We played D&D with friends all day today. I'm gonna have to force myself to get my yoga done tonight and that will probably be all I do.

Last night I did day 1 of my chiropractor's squat challenge, Cher's Hot Dance, day 1 of CVG's Movement Challenge (workout tester, two tabatas: mountain climbers, burpees, bicycles and air squats), and a Kassandra bedtime yoga practice.

• There's a huge park along the harbour foreshore after I pass the shopping strip. It wasn't all urban trekking, and a full hour was spent at the beach.
DH, however, could easily do it - he loves the built environment (architect originally).
• Relieved that you're out in that cold for so brief a time. You wouldn't be getting me out in it at ALL - I'm actually impressed at the motivation to do it!

SANDY
Thank you for the well wishes - feeling a LOT better, just a persistent cough now, but sparks up only every hour or so.

BUFF
Yoga & kettlebells - both of which I should do more of this year - need to get out of my "Step-cardio with a few Cathe weights sprinkled in" rut.

Was determined to kick of on Monday:
morning - Yoga with Tim
noonish - Les Mills Body Jam 23 - could take it higher/lower depending on how I felt
afternoon - walked Alice
evening - Yoga with Adriene

Tuesday - shall push a little harder again today

Sandy - How are you liking your Booty Lift program? Is it worth my doing?

I'm sad that Daniel isn't offering more classes for the challenge. . A weekly calendar with more would be preferred.

I am really liking the Booty Lift 5 day 30 minutes each. The three done have been very effective and enjoyable.

Daniel Challenge? I don't know about that.
