Forgot to mention that I finished the collection of short stories by Maeve Binchy that I was reading, A Few of the Girls. I always enjoy her!
Pam, did you ever wind up reading This Year It Will Be Different? Those stories definitely had a similar feel, and there were some holiday stories in the one I read also.

Popping in with two great books back to back, which doesn't happen often:
Circe by Madeline Miller - a mythology read of all the events of the goddess/nymph Circe through her own eyes. It was fascinating. I will be reading The Song of Achilles, her other NY Times bestseller. Also Star Mother, a fantasy/mythology-themed story about a young girl living in what seems to be medieval times, with living gods who visit and interact with the earthlings. I don't want to give too much away. I found it to be an enchanting, page-turning read. And I made my 50 book goal! This year I'm aiming for 45 books. |

I keep meaning to read Circe as people keep raving about it. Listened to an interview with the author recently and she is insanely intelligent.

My library hold on the e-book of The Giver of Stars (Jojo Moyes) finally came through last night, and I'm about a third of the way into it. Really enjoying it so far!
I'm also taking a much slower journey through Isaac's Storm (Erik Larson). This is a reread from several years ago, and it's just as good the second time around.
