Forgot to mention that I finished the collection of short stories by Maeve Binchy that I was reading, A Few of the Girls. I always enjoy her!

Pam, did you ever wind up reading This Year It Will Be Different? Those stories definitely had a similar feel, and there were some holiday stories in the one I read also.

Beth, I need to check those out of my library. I read her older short story books back in the 1990s, but i.do not think.I read those. I admit I prefer her regular books. The short stories always leave me wanting to know more about the characters.

Popping in with two great books back to back, which doesn't happen often:

Circe by Madeline Miller - a mythology read of all the events of the goddess/nymph Circe through her own eyes. It was fascinating. I will be reading The Song of Achilles, her other NY Times bestseller.

Also Star Mother, a fantasy/mythology-themed story about a young girl living in what seems to be medieval times, with living gods who visit and interact with the earthlings. I don't want to give too much away. I found it to be an enchanting, page-turning read.

And I made my 50 book goal! This year I'm aiming for 45 books.

I loved Circe! I also read SoA, though it wasn’t quite as good to me. (I know people who read SoA first, who feel that way for Circe, lol.)

I’ll have to check out your second book. Sounds interesting!

I bought myself a copy of The Superpowereds Year One by Drew Hayes.

Apparently some years ago it was written as a webnovel, but was eventually published.

The Foreward is funny, so that's a good sign, I hope.

This is available on Kindle Unlimited. I just signed up for a(nother) free trial so now I’ll add these to my list.

I keep meaning to read Circe as people keep raving about it. Listened to an interview with the author recently and she is insanely intelligent.

I couldn't get into the last 2 books so I returned them to the library. I'm now re-reading Me by Elton John.

My library hold on the e-book of The Giver of Stars (Jojo Moyes) finally came through last night, and I'm about a third of the way into it. Really enjoying it so far!

I'm also taking a much slower journey through Isaac's Storm (Erik Larson). This is a reread from several years ago, and it's just as good the second time around.
