Too many to name, but I do have a soft spot for story songs from guitar playing singer songwriters, of whatever style.

And for me, there's music to listen to while I'm driving the car, music to listen to when I'm working out, music to listen to when I want to be even more depressed and weepy (avoiding that sort these days, LOL!), music to fall asleep to, etc.

Just lately I've been enjoying some of the ambient music channels on Youtube, and seem to have a fondness for lo-fi jazzy blues, but wish they'd quit using photos of cigars and whisky. The imagery is cliched, IMO the music deserves better. Usually can't handle the ambient noise ones with lots of rain or running stream noises.

I like quite a few, but my favorite group of all times is Pink Floyd. Saw them in concert at Soldier Field in Chicago in June of 1977 during their Animal Tour. Unforgettable experience.

I also love The Thorns, Father John Misty, Hozier, Michael Franti, The War and Treaty, Yolo..

We have all the Under the Covers cds. We would have seen Matthew and Susanna's one tour, but our son was playing baseball at the time and we missed many concerts then.

Did you see the documentary about The Jam that was on Showtime a few years ago?

XTC is another group I like but I don't know all their music.

What I didn't list was Jethro Tull. I saw him at the Old Chicago Stadium (where the Bulls and Blackhawks played before United Center was built). I literally slept through the entire concert. And no, I had not been drinking or anything else. I was just very bored I guess.

I have an Andrew Bird story! I was able to see him play for free a few years ago at Millennium Park in Chicago as part of their free concert series. He was amazing live! And, the next summer as part of the series the Sea and Cake was playing so I was able to catch them for free, too. But who should I see before the Sea & Cake show walking around but Andrew Bird himself. He was there alone, just walking around whistling and sat a row behind us. I was too intimidated to say anything to him. He was there to support his fellow Chicago musicians.

Oh, and the Style Council's song [I]My Ever Changing Moods[I] is one of my favorite songs of all time!
