I like Hiit but not all the time. I think doing a little of everything is important. I won't give into age and I fight to keep pounds off. I eat what I want but my motto has been "moderation, moderation, moderation". Same with Hiit workouts.

Sums up how I feel. If I hated it I wouldn't do it. As with brussels sprouts in my world, I find good substitutes for things that are allegedly "good for me" but that I hate.

I hear you--I hate those frantically-paced HIIT workouts, too.

But I discovered that there are some HIIT workouts that are lower impact! Jessica Smith has some, and there are some (much) lower impact HIIT workouts on the BeachBody On Demand sight now too--mainly in Chalene's Turbo Fire. I try to do one at least once/week- two ideally. But, honestly, as you said, it's those non-workout habits that will mostly be responsible for our weight loss.
