Good morning! Nothing to report other than day 10 of the Holden 30 day qigong challenge. Had a wonderful time reconnecting with my grandniece and niece. We had winter salads that featured parsnips and carrots, finely diced and roasted, over greens with cranberry raisins and a sprinkle of unsweetened pecans.

Pam, oh I love that supported yin style fish pose. Your walk with DS2 sounds so nice.

Diane, I hope you enjoyed your bike rides. I don't do stability ball-themed workouts much, though I often sub mine for a weight bench.

Donna, Burpee Girls sounds interesting! Good to hear you enjoyed a nice walk.

Having a challenging week here at work - sigh. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

Yesterday:

44 minute outdoor walk

It was just too nice yesterday to pass up an outdoor walk so I went for it and my hair isn't any worse for it. Hoping for another walk today but I do have a few other things going on so we'll see.

PAT, your time with your niece and greatniece sounds lovely. The salad sounds yummy too.

DIANE, ah bike rides sound good. Sorry to hear about the piriformis pain.

PAM & DONNA, nice workouts and walks.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hi Everyone!

This morning was:

CS 1304
15 Min Express Posture Workout

I was feeling stiff and sore in my lower back and hip and realized I hadn't been keeping up w/ my CS/Essentrics. Not to mentioning spending too much time sitting at my desk.

I was originally going to just do the one episode, but it felt so good I continued on.

I will see what else I am able to get done today!

Summer Breeze - glad the walk didn't hurt your new hairdo!

Sounds great, Pat!!

Diane and Pam - I also don't love Stability Balls - once in awhile it ok. I think generally I find it hard to workout in my space with them. Maybe if I had a huge space or something it would be better. I should just deflate mine and put it away....I have it blown up but haven't used it in a long time.

Waves, everyone!

Hi everyone!

Another beautiful day!!! It really lightens the mood in our house. And we have baby robins!!!!! I'm so loving watching nature on my own front porch!!!

Today’s workout:
Jenny Ford Step – in place of Cathe’s Low Impact Step
Tamilee’s Challenge – 3 sets/2 mins each of wall sits with the stability ball – Hah! And I just complained about the ball!
Yoga for Sciatica and Low Back – Jen Hilman
This afternoon an 8 mile bike ride. More yoga to follow.

Pam: Yes! I do use the stability ball for wall squats – I forgot about that and interestingly enough they were on my rotation for today! And then there’s the ab roll outs. So, I’m walking back my remark a bit! I completely forgot that I needed the ball for those exercises and they are ones I actually like! I’ve been liking Yoga with Joelle lately as well.

Pat: Yum!!! Salads are a big favorite in our house.

Summer Breeze: My piriformis has been an ongoing issue for years. It flares up, goes away, and then comes back. I now back off when it starts to bother me. Before, I would muscle through my workouts and that was a HUGE mistake!

Donna: I keep my stability ball inflated for the certain exercises that require it. I used it today but it really just sits there and collects dust. Still, when I need it I use it if I can’t find other options.

Hope everyone had a wonderful hump day!

Speaking of piriformis and other pain - I am feeling much better since I quite Pahla B. I got some twinges now and again and sometimes I'll just know it is time to do a CS/Essentrics workout. But much better. My back has bothered me for years - probably going back to my 20's. So I just need to be careful/mindful!

Todays workouts:
~Qi Gong Challenge Day 10
~Taught Essentrics
~Gina B 20 min Latin Fiesta Walk
~Strength circuit day 1
~Long stretch & yin poses….hip, hamstring, quad, adductor, & chest opener focus, finished with supported fish

Donna - There’s no one size fits all with workouts. Other than a rebounder workout, I’ve never done any of Pahla’s workouts. I remember trading KCM’s workouts because they irritated my back.

Summer breeze - Glad your do survived the walk!

Pat - I’m so glad you enjoyed your time with your grandniece! Is she the yoga teacher? Supported fish feels so good!

Waves to Diane!

Hi Everyone,

My bathroom remodel starts today - it is going to be about 2 weeks of chaos but hopefully worth it in the end. During this time, for workouts, I'm just going to pick whatever I want which is likely going to be low key and low dread, particularly since I'm going to have to be up earlier than I'm used to.

Anyway...today, so far, has been:

Essentrics Age Specific Challenge Workout # 1 For 50's - Increase Your Energy and Mobility w/ Miranda. This was a nice 30 min routine - some standing, some barre, and some floor.

Yesterday DD and I took a walk w/ our Golden.

I may try to fit something else in today as well!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hi everybody!

Today was a good day, despite going to the dentist (cleaning). Of course they see something that needs to be fixed and it ALWAYS needs to be fixed with a crown. I told them I go on Medicare in November and will have dental insurance then so I’m waiting.

Today’s Workouts:
Cathe’s Ab Circuits – No Equipment.
Pushups
TLW 3 sets of 10 Side Delt Raises
Yoga for Sciatica with Lesley (a favorite – short but sweet!)
Walk in park while DH runs – 2.77 miles
This afternoon a Bad Yogi practice from her first offering, Perfect Body Yoga Practice

Donna: It’s so strange – pain. I never had this problem until I hit my late 50s. Guess I was pushing it like I was still in 20s and 30s! Good luck with the remodel. Having workers in the house is such a pain but the payoff at the end is worth it!

Pam: As always, love your workouts. They make me feel very “zen”.

Pat: Hope your day wasn’t as stressful as you initially thought. This will all be worth it when you’re retired. We never regret retiring somewhat early. You cannot get that time back.

Waves to Summer Breeze!
