Hi everyone,
Yesterday I was short on time so I did a Powerfit. I think Stephanie Huckabee has an almost perfect body. Her arms are nice and toned but they don't look too skinny at all. Something to aspire to!

Today, I had to go to work and it threw my schedule out of whack. I'm going to try to do some yoga before bed. I'll take the pup for a longer walk, too.
take care,
Liz

Hi Everyone,

Will be brief.....unfortunately....

Last night I got out for a walk w/ my Golden and then did the standing portion of Jenny's Aging Backwards on ETV (it was a Live workout)

Today, so far, sticking w/ the Kathy Smith theme:

Matrix Walk - just the first section and stretch. This one is kinda cheesy, but I still enjoyed it.

Later today I'll either do the 2nd section and standing abs or I'll go another outdoor walk - whatever the weather dictates.

Sherry - good idea about the doctor for pain relief - were you able to get an appointment?

Liz - I agree about Stephanie - I wish I had Kathy Smith's legs, LOL -

waves, everyone!

Today was 15 Minute Morning Stretch with Yoga with Bird.

Donna, I did go in today. I saw a Nurse Practitioner, and a Student Nurse Practitioner. I really liked both of them. Much better than the doctor I saw a couple of years ago. They have more time to talk to you and are more empathetic. They developed a plan for me to take care of my health, and I need to implement some of it now. And some of it, such as preventative tests, I'll do in January when I'm on Marketplace Insurance again. I have blood tests and urine tests done tomorrow. In a week and a half, I'll have the ultrasound on my heart.

I explained my TMJ situation to the student NP. Funny, but she said why don't you just go to a dentist for a mouth guard? I said, that's what I thought, but the dentist I went to recommended me to the TMJ office. Looking back, I think most likely because I was having unexplained pain and probably manifested a lot of anxiety, and I was too complicated a problem for him. She also said, you are going to too many providers, and they only know a piece of your problem, you need one provider. I said, that's what my new dentist said, lol. I did make an appointment with him for a mouth guard, but his assistant called and they canceled it. He thinks I need a specialist. Well yeah, I've tried that! They suggested I go back to the TMJ specialist. I guess I'm stuck with her. (sigh) I probably need a new mouth guard, as the old one doesn't fit the new crowns.

We bought a recliner for me to sleep in, and it's much more comfortable. I have to sleep upright as it's less painful. So, at least I'm sleeping better. The pain is a little less today. Hopefully, it will continue to heal, with no more dental work on the horizon.

Hi!

Sherry - I'm glad you had a good visit w/ the NPs - I really generally prefer to see NPs or Physician Assistants -they are usually much more willing to listen to you. Although my PCP is good- she is easy to talk to and listens to you - but the office is just terrible....(more on that below)

Speaking of dentists - I did have a dentist make a mouth guard for me although I never wear it and I think I really didn't need it - I think he just wanted to make a buck on the deal...LOL!

But - my daughter went to the dentist on Monday for a cleaning and now she has a swollen tonsil w/ white crud in it (she says it is a "tonsil stone") while everything I read indicates that you don't get it if from going to the dentist, I think it is too much of a coincidence. Also, since I went I have had a bunch of canker sores. I haven't had an outbreak of them in a long time - so I wonder if my mouth got irritated from the cleaning. It is a necessary evil to go though b/c if you don't go you just end up with other issues. I am going in on Monday for a replacement of an old crown. Let us hope it goes smoothly!!

I hope you feel better soon - maybe you can find a better TMJ specialist - it sounds like this one isn't very good. Can you live w/out a mouth guard until you get in to see someone else or would that just make it worse?

Hang in there.

Donna

Oh - my daughter called the PCP to go in to have her tonsil looked at - and they won't see her - they say it is a COVID symptom so she can't go to the dr - this is insane! So she is going to Minute Clinic tomorrow - yes, in CVS where anyone can walk in w/ COVID. I think this is getting ridiculous with the PCPs that won't see you if you are sick - the symptoms of COVID are the symptoms of a bunch of illnesses - and COVID is here to stay, it is not going away we have to live with it and we can't go to Urgent Care, the ER, Minute Clinic etc every time we are sick. There is no continuity of care - and I am willing to bet the PCP does not even know she had Mono since that was diagnosed in an ER visit. So frustrated. I was looking into changing doctors b/c of this - but I think they all are like this around here. So basically, around here, you can only go to the PCP for well visits -

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post...

Last night I did end up doing the 2nd part of the Matrix walk along w/ the standing core and I managed to get in Yoga w/ Bird - Day 5, I think.

This morning was time crunched so I did Lucy's Feel Amazing Challenge Day # 2 - it was a "run" with some toning. Her stuff is really sneaky and time efficient.

Speaking of which, that will be my goal for about two weeks - supposedly our Master Bath remodel is going to start at the end of next week. He anticipates it will take 2 weeks....and they like to start early so I am going to have to re-think my workout plans for those two weeks. I normally like to do my main workout in the morning, but w/ them getting here at 7:30 a.m. it is going to be a challenge. So I will either have to do something super short or do a workout in the evening after work....I do run out of steam in the evening, even w/ working from home. I may just aim for 3 sparks throughout the day - a short something in the morning, a mid-day walk, and a short something at night.

Whatever, it is temporary and I hope to at least have a newly remodeled Master Bath by Memorial Day.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

No workouts, low energy and it aggravates pain. I can’t lower my head in yoga, it makes it more painful. I was glad to see the thread in GD about modifying inversions.

Still dealing with the pain, but it’s been just a week and half since crowns. And I don’t have a proper mouth guard yet. Still hopeful it will heal at some point. It still responds to ibuprofen and acetaminophen so that’s a good sign. Chronic neuropathy pain doesn’t respond. Still hanging in there!

Hi Ladies,

It's been super windy here today, so I didn't get outside to some of the planned walks in Providence. Instead I did a short endurance walk in Snowdonia, Wales. This coach has such a calming voice, yet also enthusiastic about the walks/hikes. One of my favorites.

Friday, I did another walk in Snowdonia with Alex, and a walk in Bolivia with Hannah. Such different extremes between urban city environment and peaceful, rural countryside.

Sherry, sorry to hear you're in so much pain still. I feel like I'm tired all the time and today is a low energy day for me, too! I didn't want to do anything, but forced myself to get on the treadmill. On days like that I need to choose the right workout for me....if I do anything at all. Hope you feel better.

Donna, sorry to hear about your daughter, too! I'm a bit nervous about going back to the dentist since Covid seems to be on the rise again. You never know about sanitation and if protocols are being followed.

Have a good weekend all!

I've started the final week of WS1 and am trying to decide what to do next. I think I'll do WS2 until Jessica's new set is released, which seems like it should be soon.

Donna, How is your DD doing? My SIL thinks she got COVID at the dentist because it was about 5 days after she'd been there that she started getting symptoms. I went in February and didn't have any problems, so who knows.

PCPs around here won't see anyone with cold-like symptoms. It's pretty ridiculous at this point. My PCP moved away so now I'm trying to find a new one.

Pam, We had wild weather here the past couple of days. It rained non-stop Friday and Saturday. It's also cold. The rain stopped for now.

Sherry, Sorry to hear you're still having issues. Glad to hear you had a good experience with the NP though.

Waves to Liz!

Had some good news to report. My overall mouth has healed enough that I was able to wear an OTC mouth guard last night. But extraction site is more painful today, I guess it irritated it. I guess my mouth needs further time to heal before a mouth guard. But it gives me hope that I'll be able to wear the professional one in a few weeks.

I also had a few minutes of no pain yesterday evening. That hasn't happened before. It is usually a constant throbbing. So those two things encouraged me. Although, it's still painful today, so hard to stay positive. But I'm still hopeful it will heal eventually, although it might take months. I read one person's pain stopped after six months, another after a year.

I did join a FB group for people who have facial neuralgia pain. Although the info and support is good, it's disheartening to read about all the people who suffer from this with no relief. Some people are helped with prescription medication, some with surgery or procedures, but some nothing helps. Some do spontaneously heal at some point. There seems to be a lot about nerve pain that modern medicine doesn't seem to have answers for. Hopefully, more will be discovered to help people.

Hi Ladies,

Happy Mother's Day to the mom's in our check-in!!!

Today I did a hike on the TM in Ecuador and another in Wales. Another lower energy day, as I'm having mild cold symptoms.

Super-duper windy day! Had a couple outdoor walks planned and didn't go. Also, wanted to take it easy in case I was getting sick.

Sherry, glad you had a good mouth day yesterday!
