Hi Everyone,

This morning I did:

BodyKindFitness (You Tube) - 5,000 Steps in 30 Min - this is one of those styles of workouts that has become popular on You Tube recently - no talking, visual cues, music. It was nice for a change of pace. It was also filmed outdoors by a lake. I can go either way on the no-talking thing - obviously, since I did Pahla B for awhile, talking doesn't bother me, LOL! But sometimes it is nice to have just the music to listen to. Anyway, Hailey, the instructor has a number of "walking" style workouts on her channel that seem to feature no talking and outdoor settings.

I added on Pilates Nest - Pilates for tight hips

Yesterday I ended up doing a bunch of add-ons.

Gina B's Motown walk, a quick leg workout and arm workout and a dog walk.

Liz - glad you didn't have to endure more jury duty than necessary! LOL! I'm on the fence about that 2nd booster....I felt sick from the 2nd shot and the 1st booster and I'm not sure I'm up for feeling that bad again especially since I have the feeling that we will be getting more shots in the fall. Maybe that is short-sighted on my part - in that getting COVID may actually be worse than a day and a half of side effects....but then I have also heard that the "boosted" immunity is short lived - like only a few weeks and then it drops down. So maybe if you know you are traveling or attending a crowded event or something it makes sense to get it beforehand so you are better protected in those situations. It is all so confusing!

Pam - nice hiking!!

Waves everyone,

Donna

Today I went in and had my mouth guard adjusted by the assistant. It was too loose and causing pain. I think she did a better job than the doctor, at least took more time with it. It seems to be just right on the right side. The right side bothered me so she loosened it a bit, but not the left side, as it wasn't bothering me at the time. But now, the left side is painful. I knew I should have asked her to make them the same. Unfortunately, they are closed on Fridays, so I can't call to get the left side adjusted until Monday.

Actually, I think normally it would be fine with both sides a bit tighter, so the guard doesn't fall off at night. However, my mouth is so irritated that even the mouth guard is bothering it. And unfortunately, all of the biting down while she adjusted it irritated my whole mouth so badly, I'm in more pain tonight. Obviously, getting the crowns irritated my mouth more. I'm going to be in pain until my mouth calms down, however long that takes. The TMJ doctor at one point said it would take a month.

Regarding the office job, during the conference call he did mention 7:30 to 1:00, instead of 2:30. However, the point is moot, as I'm in a lot of pain tonight. I'm going to have to give up on getting a job until my pain subsides. I wanted a job because I was getting depressed and needed the distraction, but I'm going to have to find other things. Reading has helped a lot, so I'm reading a lot.

Sherry, I'm so sorry for all that you've been having to cope with. I sure hope things work out for you. Right now you've really been in the valley, so praying you get to that mountain top and over the other side! Probably sensible to hold off on the job with everything you've suffered through. When you feel better that sounds like a good time to switch things up! Reading is a great distraction. I'm reading each night before bed and it helps to ease my mind, as well!

No walk today. I'm watching the little girl I babysit every once in awhile, when the grandmas are unavailable or out of town. She's five now, hard to believe! She keeps me on my toes and will be a great distraction.

I think my mouth is so irritated from grinding over the years, that it didn't take much dental work to send it over the edge. And my teeth were out of alignment, but I think they are fine now. Unfortunately, no matter how well the mouth guard fits, it will cause discomfort and pain. But if I don't wear it, the grinding will cause more pain. I guess I'll have to ask the TMJ doctor what to do. I'm feeling positive that this will eventually get better, but it isn't going to be easy.

Thanks, Pam. It is definitely the valley right now! But I am seeing the mountaintop, now that I'm nearing the end of all the dental work.

I went to the meeting for work yesterday. A lot of people were there and very few masks. I wore mine most of the time, but had to remove it during meals/breaks. If I don't get COVID after this, I'll be shocked. I didn't do any workouts yesterday because I had to be there early and got home late, but I continued with WS1 today.

Donna, I'm also on the fence about the 2nd booster. I may wait until the fall because I heard they'll have a vaccine out by then that protects against omicron, plus, the immunity from a 2nd booster of the current shot is short, from what I've read. It IS very confusing. I almost got the 2nd booster when I heard I'd have to go to that meeting I went to yesterday, but then decided against it because it hasn't been that long since I had the first booster.

Liz, Glad you didn't get picked at jury duty. We have to do it every 3 years here and the last time I went was 3 years ago, so I dread looking through my mail each day.

Sherry, So sorry to hear you're still having problems. It's probably best if you don't get a job right now, but if you're feeling up to it, maybe do more reading or go outside for walks if it's not too hot yet, just to clear your head. That helps me when I'm having issues.

Pam, Those hikes you go on sound like a lot of fun. I really need to look into finding something like that around here.

Have a good day!

I had an early meeting this morning, so no workout - but hopefully I can sneak something short in later...I hope to get a break, LOL!

I also have an interview in 30 min....

wishiwasinhawaii - yea, I'm on the fence, I got my booster in December. I am sick for like a day and a half afterwards...I'm not sure if it is worth it, honestly, especially since the "boost" is short-lived. I guess the semi good news is the new variants generally do not produce as much severe illness and I have been vaccinated and I don't go many places - but my DD and DH do go out every day. Plus DD's BF is here quite a bit and while he is vaccinated, his family is not. (He moved back in w/ his Dad - and his Dad and stepmom do not believe in the vaccines...) my DD's BF has had COVID 2X - once between the first and second vaccine and once right after he got the booster.

I'm just not sure if it is good to continue to stress my immune system w/ these boosters...especially multiple times a year.

it is confusing!

I was really exhausted after babysitting, so a job is out of the question. My pain has been worse this week, adjusting the mouth guard on Thursday made it worse. I’m going in for one more adjustment and calling it quits. I am calling a different TMJ specialist Monday morning. This one gets 4.5 starts out of five on google and yelp, as opposed to the 2.5 of the one I'm seeing now. She also specializes in nerve pain, so I think she might be a better fit for me. I hope it won’t be a long wait for an appointment.

Since I had Covid, most likely Omicron last January, I will skip the booster. Although, my immune system probably isn't the best right now. I've been lax about mask wearing and I need to change that. There are a few people here who wear masks, mostly older people.

wishiwasinhawaii, I have been walking each morning. I'm too tired from babysitting today, but I'm going to the park. It will be crowded with people, which will be good for me. I think I'll bring a book to read.

Donna, I hope the interview went well.

Liz, that's great you got out of jury duty. My husband got a notice for duty in a couple of months, his busiest time of the year, which doesn't work well for us. I know he would love to do it, he served on the grand jury once, for a couple of months. He worked half days, and fortunately they still paid him the same. He did have to work later and on weekends. He really enjoyed it and became close to the people there. I served on a trial once, it was five half days. My office paid me for one day, then I had to take a day and a half of vacation. And I work for a law firm! It's hard to get paid for jury duty here in Arizona by employers, yet the courts expect you to serve. Not very practical.

I went to the park yesterday, sat on a bench and read my book. It was in front of the water and I could watch the ducks. Bigger parks here have large man made ponds. They also stock them with fish for fishing. I enjoyed it a lot, it was so peaceful. There were lots of people on a Saturday, but not too close to me.

I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday.

Hi Ladies,

We were in Newport, RI yesterday doing a couple cemetery tours of mostly colonial settlers and early state governors. Toured Trinity church, as well and it's a beautiful church with lovely stained glass windows. Plenty of walking.

Not feeling especially well today, so no workout. I don't know if I caught a cold...or what. We ate a late dinner out and the restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday night. Not sure why we surrounded ourselves with so many people, unmasked. I know we've gotten lax with the wearing of masks and don't think this country is out of the woods yet, either.

I haven't been chosen for jury duty since living in AZ and that was a long time ago.

Sherry, going to the park and reading sounds lovely. Not when it's 100 degrees though. ;-)

Hi Everyone,

Catching up with workouts:

Friday - I did a bunch of Gina B's 1 song workouts strung together. I did a warm-up, 2 lower body workouts, 2 upper and a cool down.

Saturday - Leslie - 20 Min Fast Walk from Tone Every Zone & Jessica Valent - Mindful Movement Full Body Pilates Workout

Sunday - Yoga w/ Bird - 7 Day Yoga Challenge Day 1 - which was a 5 min morning yoga, Ellen - 4 Elements Flow, and I added on another Yoga w/ Bird - 10 Min Morning Yoga Miracle

Sherry - I hope you are feeling a little better and can get into see another specialist this week.

Pam - I hope you feel better too

I think we all have COVID-fatigue - I think we are letting our guards down but it is just hard to continue to deal with it - I guess we just have to do the best we can.

I'm still on the fence w/ the 2nd booster.

I think my friend in NY has COVID - I was talking to her Friday and she was coughing and said it felt like an elephant was sitting on her chest. That is exactly what a co-worker said when she had it....

Hope everyone has a good day!
