Alison, you are getting very good advice here and I concur that you should listen to your body (and mind) to decide what in the way of exercise to do.
Exercise is a stress reliever for me and I suspect it is for you to a certain extent but do what feels right and do other things to deal with stress (meditation, prayer, getting support from family and friends, binge watching TV-whatever helps) I am so sorry about everything you are going through. Sending hugs and support. |

Alison - Big hugs and prayers for your family!
During rough times, I don't try to work out harder. I do try to be consistent. I'll do something every day, even if it is only a few minutes of qi gong or a stretch or foam rolling. Maybe try more mindful workouts as opposed to super tough ones. Jessica Smith has some good fusion types of workouts that get the body moving without stressing it. Meditation can be helpful. Even if it is only 5 minutes here and there. Old thread alert: Let's start a list of FREE meditation/guided imagery downloads! I'm a stress non-eater, so I have to make sure to eat to keep up my body.
