I did walk outdoors for a quarter mile. I got some sunshine which helped my mood a bit.

Hi, Donna. Thanks for asking. Still hanging in there. I've been having some tooth pain because of my teeth grinding, so it's taken awhile to figure out how to adjust my mouth guard. Fortunately, all my teeth are okay except that first crown. It was sore to chew on for months, the bite was never right. But now it's becoming painful. I'm hoping it's from the teeth grinding and will heal.

I went in two days after the second root canal, because I thought that first crown needed a root canal, along with another tooth on top. However, the endo thinks the pain is from tooth grinding, and was hesitant to do anything. He was right, I needed to recover from the first two root canals, and it was too soon. He was also right about the tooth on top, it was pain free the next day, the pain was from grinding. I felt bad for wasting his time, but I was frantic with pain, and after two weeks of it, just wanted it to stop, if you know what I mean. He said I could come in in a week for an evaluation on the first crown. I have an appointment on Friday at 11:45.

I am still hoping that perhaps it is irritation and it recovers. But I've adjusted the mouthguard, and it isn't touching the upper crown. It seems to be getting worse each day. So, it's hard to stay positive. But this is the last tooth to deal with, hopefully!

Oh, in addition, the endo said he wanted me to get the teeth adjusted to see if correcting the bite would eliminate the pain. So, he referred me to a dentist. The dentist said he won't adjust the teeth until I have a mouth guard, because my teeth will move. The dentist referred me to a TMJ specialist for a mouthguard. I finally got an appointment yesterday, and the first available is April 18. Which means probably six weeks before the teeth are adjusted. I don't think I could last that long! Now, if the tooth is pain free, and only sore when chewing, then yes. But that isn't the case so far. But they will also call me when there is a cancellation.

Thanks for listening to my long saga!

Oh My goodness, Sherry - what a nightmare. Does anything help the pain? I agree that chronic pain really is exhausting. I just hope everything resolves. ((HUGS))

Sherry, I can't believe how much you've suffered through all of this, being constantly in pain for so long! That's terrible and so frustrating, I'm sure. What an ordeal and I hope you get some relief soon. It's no wonder you've been anxious all this time with what you've experienced. I often wonder how competent anyone is, nowadays. You just never know. Is is possible you could get in sooner if there is a cancelation?

I have to go to the office today so I don't have a lot of time to write, but just wanted to check-in.

Donna, Yes, I had the interview yesterday. The job sounds like it would be very interesting and the interview went well, so we'll what happens. It's full WFH, so that's also a major plus. The guy I talked with would be my manager and he was around my age and very fun and easy to talk to, unlike my current manager, LOL. I always do better with male managers for some reason. He said I should hear back from them on Monday. There will be two more interviews, if I get that far. Are you still looking for internal jobs?

Sherry, Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear you're still having so many problems. I hope you find some relief soon. That must be very aggravating and frustrating.

Pam, Wow, iFIT certainly has some interesting instructors. Do Tara Lipinski and Nancy Kerrigan do all types of workouts or just elliptical? Are other figure skaters on there as well?

Have a good day! At least it's nice out today so I plan to take frequent walk breaks at work so I don't have to sit in the germy office the whole time.

These Olympic Gold medal winners have just been introduced for this March Winter Champion series of workouts. Their workouts will be in the system so you can do them or repeat them at any time. But doing 16, 12, or 8 workouts for each equipment type earns you a medal of Sapphire, Silver or Bronze, if it's completed by the end of March 31st.

Tara and Nancy are not on actual elliptical machines. Tara skates on an indoor ice rink around in circles, while you workout on your equipment or walk outside using the app on your phone. Nancy is outdoors on an ice rink, and again skates but with each of them you learn about their history and stories as athletes. Dan Cnossan is on the slopes, cross country skiing, while you on your elliptical, TM, or outdoor walk listen his heroic story, as well. You can use these like you would listen to any podcast or TED talk and do them unpaired with a machine to take with you anywhere you happen to be...in car, hotel, etc.

Kallie Humphries is a bobsledder, but she does the strength workouts which you can only see on your phone and then cast to a Smart TV, like I do in my workout room. Joey Mantia is a speed skater does 8 of the strength workouts. I am loving the strength workouts but again hearing each of their stories.

When you do treadmill workouts the machines are paired with the workouts so if Erin Jackson (speed skater) is going up a hill, the treadmill inclines up and you feel like you're climbing too. And, when she speeds up to a run or fast walk, your equipment changes to represent that....though you can manually slow things down when needed.

They have a popular Olympic swimmer (that isn't a part of this particular challenge for March) and he does non-swimming workouts, either biking or rowing or running. Michael Phelps?

The great thing about iFIT is that if you have a bike or TM, you could do the elliptical workouts with those different machines because Tara and Nancy aren't on machines. You could walk, while they skate and speed up or slow down when you are prompted to do so. For Dan's workout on skis, I do try to mimic skiing motions with light handweights while on TM.

Regarding other figure skaters, Johnny Weir is a " trainer" for this challenge, but he only has one workout in the rowing challenge, which I haven't viewed yet.

Back again to post my workouts for the day. I just completed the 16th workout in the Elliptical series, finishing off the last three with Nancy Kerrigan. She was ok, Tara was ok, but Dan's was the best of the bunch of this category. Tara and Nancy both had four workouts each, while Dan had eight.

Nancy has three kids, the oldest is a costume designer in NYC, the middle one is a gymnast, getting ready for college, and her youngest is in ballet school...so she's a busy mom!

I spoke too soon! The tooth has been really painful the last few days. My endo gave me an emergency appointment this afternoon. I’m sitting in the waiting room. I really hope this is the last tooth to deal with for awhile. Wish me luck!

Hi,

This has just been one of those weeks.....

Today's workouts were:

Essentrics Live March Madness # 2 with Sahra.

I have to admit, I do have to talk myself into doing the hour long workouts, but once I do them I'm glad i did.

I also added on a dog walk and then a short strength training from the Be Healthy Enough 7 Day Beginner challenge - it was all very straightforward stuff in this video she had some music on. I like her and I may consider subscribing to her site for a month or so. Her dog was in this one- he looks like a mini Golden Retriever - I wonder if he is a Duck Tolling Retriever?? HMM.. I should leave a comment on her channel and ask!

I'm pooped and I have to get up extra early to bring my Golden in to the vet to have her teeth cleaned tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Well, I got my root canal this afternoon! Crossing my fingers it’s the last one.

And I think it works out better for the endo’s schedule, now he can leave the office earlier on Friday.

Thanks for the sympathy everyone. I appreciate it.

Donna, taking ibuprofen with extra strength Tylenol helps. Taking them together works better than separately. But when the pain is really bad, it hardly touches it. I hate taking a lot, the medicine makes me feel really run down.

Hi all,
Quick check in.

Sherry, I hope this last root canal helps! Being in chronic pain is no fun. I'm so sorry you are going through all this.

wishiwasinhawaii, good luck on the job front! I work better with a male boss, too. Also nice that he is around your age. I had a manager for about 6 months that was about 15 years younger than me. I didn't mind, but I think she was a bit freaked out about it! LOL!

Donna, hour-long workouts are LONG! I'm not sure when the last time was that I did a workout for that long, but I often walk for more than an hour. Occasionally I like to push myself out of my 20-30 minute sweet spot.

Pam, thanks for the explanation of the Ifit. Very fun to learn that Nancy Kerrigan has 3 children!

For my workouts, I've been using the mini trampoline in short bursts while I watch fitness videos on Amazon Prime. I'm hoping to find some new instructors to try out, but nothing yet. However, I find it to be an entertaining way to pass the time.

Work is dreadful. My boss just went out on a medical leave for 3 months so I have a lot more responsibilities. I'm trying to enjoy it. LOL!

more later,
Liz
