I am not worthy and I wanna be you in 20 years. Seriously. All others have said wise things about scaling back, and respecting the changes that come with the ageing process while staying active. And I agree, and am still impressed - your workouts AND your attitude.

I have pretty much done that - just a little walking and some core work - today I am going to do X-TrainFit upper body workout - less than 30 minutes - and I'm not going real heavy. I think where I have trouble is when I do something like Burn Sets where I do too many sets of different moves for the same muscle group.

I don't think it is necessarily age that catches up with you as the genetic cards you are dealt, and whatever else is going on in your life. I try to think in terms of doing the most I can with what I've got. I wish I could do all the things I used to be able to do, but I'd rather play it safe and stay active in a sustainable manner.
I was recently taken out by either food poisoning or norovirus. I've had stomach flu before, and this felt altogether different so I'm leaning toward food poisoning, especially since almost 2 weeks later I am still incredibly weak and fatigued. I feel like I've lost years strength of gains with a snap of the finger! Incredibly frustrating. It seems like my motivation also got wiped out, which might be for the best. I'm still trying to get walking and some kind of movement in, but I'm just shocked at how weak I am. These are good reminders to be kind to ourselves and listen to our bodies. |

Castella I have been there several times and it is very hard to make a comeback and slow at first but I have found once I start making progress the rate of improvement speeds up. Just take it super slow at first.
That's why I'll always save some favorite beginners workouts. |
