I usually do my workout VERY early in the morning while DH is still sleeping, lol. I don't do a dvd, or paper workout. This is what I usually do:
2 sets of everything, 15 reps/supersets
Squats/bicep curls
Lunges (each leg)/single tricep extensions (like Debbie does in SI6)
Shoulder Press/push-ups
Double arm lat row (again like Debbie does)
I use the med resistance band with handles, for everything except shoulders I have to use the teal band. My shoulders are my weak area. I will also change up the exercises. Sometimes I do seated lat row, or biceps from different angles, etc.
For cardio, I usually do Leslie dvd's. Of course I do abs on my own or a short pilates dvd if I have time.

I really can't lift heavy any longer either, Cheri.

I was doing the Powerfits a lot, and I like them because they are short, but I was not getting the same results. I think I would definitely get the same results with Slim in 6 and or Slim Series, but I don't always have time for those. But, I do love them!

Years ago my routine was my NordicTrack for 20 minutes, followed by either upper or lower body band work. These weren't even the flex bands, stretchy bands or body bands of today. They were about 2 inches wide, thick and only 10-12 inches long. I started using them during classes at the gym and then bought my own from Spri. I still have a bunch I've never used.

I made up my own routine and compiled an audiocassette to exercise to. I still have my Tamilee Webb Original Rubber Band Workout book from 1986. My first Collage purchase was a Kari Anderson band workout (I can see the cover perfectly!). I also have Body Art, a band VHS, and all fhe PowerFits. Oh, also Cathe's TravelFit, which is still in the shrinkwrap.

I remember that my legs were in great shape back then. I assume my upper body was, too. A year or so ago I tried going back to a body band rotation of my own, but one of the exercises was killing my back.

I downloaded Jessica's band workout last week, but haven't tried it yet. This thread has renewed my interest in bands.

I really don't think you need to spend money on a Journey Gym to get results.

Just came across this.

There are apparently two more parts, also.

ETA: I just bought Kari's Tone It Up on amazon. Feeling nostalgic.

I remember doing a p90x rotation and substituting bands while on vacation. I got more definition and lost weight that week.

Maybe clx with bands would be good. she does both upper and lower body.

Sherry~I got really good definition when I did a Powerfit rotation but I did use a pretty heavy band. I like your set of exercises, though~they sound great.

I think BB does a good job showing how to use bands in their workouts too.

Oh, I agree. I just thought it was interesting. Although, if you traveled extensively, I think it might be a good investment.

It's great, but I now wonder if I just have not been using the proper weights when using dumbells. I am not a heavy lifter, I mostly do the Firm, Jari Love, some barre workouts....Anybody else out there using resistance bands on a regular basis?

Sherry
Resistance bands give resistance up and down. You do get more bang for your buck with them. I have a cool Ellen Barrett DVD called Tone Every Inch that uses dumbbells and exercise bands held together.
