all ages working out together

I am finally back to an in person Essentrics class. It's so inspirational to me that I have 2 sets of mother/daughters attending class. One "couple" is 80 and 58, the other is 47 and 22. I just think it is so cool to have an 80 year old and 22 year old in the same room and working at their own pace with me.

This is what I always liked when I was doing barre classes. There weren't any mother/daughter pairs that I knew of, but there were people (almost all women) of all ages and ability levels. Unfortunately, I can't do barre any more because of a foot problem. A lot of other exercise classes are sort of "segregated" by age with young people in boot camp classes and older people in "Zumba Gold" and so on.

A few weeks ago my daughter and I did an Acro-yoga class together. Typically this is more of a couples thing but I am single and her boyfriend wasn't interested. Once my daughter got past the fear of "killing my mom" it was fun. We were able to do most all of the challenging moves including one where I am on my back holding her up by her arms and she gets into a pike and then flips over my head and lands on her feet. It really boost my 66 year old confidence.
