I'm reading Ravenspur: Rise of the Tudors, the latest in Conn Iggulden's series on the War of the Roses. It's his typical good book. I'm also reading To Shield a Queen by Fiona Buckley, a historical mystery. I'm really enjoying this book and look forward to more.

I love British historical fiction. I’ll definitely look for those!

So I finished the book I was reading from David Baldacci's King & Maxwell series, First Family, which I liked. I decided to go right to the last book of the series, King and Maxwell, but after reading the first few chapters, I realized that those two books are #4 and #6 - I missed the fifth book! So I'm going to put K&M on pause until I can go back and read #5.

If you decide to try the Conn Iggulden series, the first book in the series is War of the Roses: Stormbird.

I had read one chapter of The Gilded Mountain, but then I got Godmersham back from the library, which I had to return before I was finished, so I'm back to that.

I recognized a few of the authors that difit posted, but most are new to me.

Does anyone love any of those authors? I'm looking for stand-alone books, NOT part of a series (unless it's a limited 2-3 book series max).

Not one of those authors, but I am currently listening to "The Sentence" by Louise Erdrich and really enjoying it. As a bonus, there are a bunch of very interesting books mentioned in it (you can find lists of them from "The Sentence" on the internet.

I really like Juliette Fay. I think she's an underrated author. And she writes stand-alone books.
