recipes you have tried from the Oh She Glows cookbook?

We have two friends who are vegan coming over next Saturday, so I am testing out a vegan dessert recipe (it is baking right now). I made the apple crumble recipe. I will post my verdict about it after it is done baking. I don't like serving recipes to company I haven't made before, so I wanted to try it out.
Since it is a recipe of Angela's, I am sure it will be delicious. I decided not to peel the apples. I used Trader Joe's thinly sliced honey roasted almonds for the topping, along with Trader Joe's almond meal, maple syrup and melted coconut oil (plus the other required ingredients). I admit I did use regular sugar. I didn't want to get too experimental with alternatives, and I wasn't sure what would work best.

Has anyone tried this recipe or any others from the cookbook?

Thanks!
Sherry

Hi Sherry! I have made the overnight oatmeal, the Chana Masala, and the Protein Power Bowl. All were very good!

I made the yolos and it was remarkable how much they tasted like Rolos! DH loved them too and he is picky about these kinds of things.

Thanks for your feedback!

The apple crumble is delicious! I will peel the apples next time, though..

If you plan to use honey roasted nuts, you might want to check with your vegan friends to see if they eat honey (or maybe you have already). It sounds delicious!

Laura-great point! I feel like an idiot...I do have regular almonds I can use instead. Thank you for bringing that up!

I have got to start trying some recipes from OSG. I have made several from her website. The peppermint patties and peanut butter chocolate eggs were amazing!

If I have vegan friends over I make them this: http://forum.videofitness.com/showth...ht=greens+gold
