Found a possible Fitstix sub - cheap!

I was in Walmart today looking for Shake Weights (didn't find them). But, I found a possible cheapo version of Fitstix.

In the toy section they are selling $2 Monster Bubble Sticks (9 fluid ounces) and $1 baton bubble sticks (3.9 fluid ounces). I considered buying them, having my kids do the bubbles, and then filling them with .... something. I guess you could do water, sand, whatever since it is a screw-on top - the top contains a wand, but it looked pretty easy to break off. They look to be about the same size as Fitstix, with the same phallic shape.

I haven't tried it, but I might. At the very least, my kids get bubbles and I'm only out a couple bucks. Plus they come in all sorts of pretty colors

A vf friend suggested I make them using empty Pringles cans filled up about halfway with rock salt. I haven't tried them out yet, but that's a cheap alternative, too

Rose, did they come in purple by any chance?? My son is too old for bubbles, but I might get them to make something smaller to hold instead of the Pringles can. Thanks for posting!

I saw Shake Weights at Bed Bath & Beyond. You might want to check there and you can use a 20% off coupon.

Nice idea~~~certainly easier & cheaper than making my own out of pipe from Lowes! Plus my DD would love the bubbles.

Thanks for sharing!

Rose -

If you're still interested in the Shake Weights, look by the checkout area if you didn't check there. I can't remember the price, but they were right next to the line we were in.

Yes I admit it, I'm addicted to fitness. I guess I need a 12 step program or maybe just 12 good steps to jog up and down on

I bet dollar stores would have the bubble sticks, too. I may check there. I couldn't face going into Walmart today..
