Why are Bosu's so expensive?

Been looking into getting one since one the area's I want to specialize in as a CPT is balance/flexibility. I haven't seen one under $75....anyone find them for less?

Anyone use one compared to a balance board?

Glad for the Foam Roller thread too, I need to get one of those.....and one of those massage sticks too....

And I keep telling my wife....I only need one more thing (as she rolls her eyes)....yeah, right...

Have you checked out Costco? I have noticed that they frequently have sales or coupons for the BOSUs, much cheaper than buying at a local sporting goods store.

I found a BOSU for around $80 a few years ago but I haven't see it for that price in awhile. I found one on Amazon that is decently priced.

The Sport Trainer BOSU is cheaper and smaller. I don't have that but hear its good as well.

I also have a balance board by Fitter First. A balance board and BOSU will give you different challenges core wise and balance wise. BOSU has more stability to it where a balance board is more wobbly. You really have to focus more on a balance board.

I hope this helps!

I bought a Sports size Bosu from Amazon 10 months ago for about $60 and free shipping. I see it's higher now and sold through other sellers. I looked for a very long time and didn't see them go on sale. One time in the last year I saw Amazon have the regular size Bosu for a little less than regular price, but it went back up within days.

I'm happy with the smaller one since I have a small apt and am able to use it in the bedroom as well. I really like it for balance work and with the body bar. It seems to last so may be worth the cost for you.

My Target has them for under $100 (as does Target online) but I don't know how that compares price-wise to other places.

So funny! I'm just thinking about buying one myself finally, and I've been wondering the same thing! They don't seem like they would be that hard to make, but.... maybe they are in bulk mfg.

Thx for the costco tip -- I hate going there (well, except for BeachBody products! ) but I'll make one of my annual trips for that.....

I want a BOSU too. I've been checking prices for a few years hoping that they would eventually go down, but they seem to be hanging pretty steady. Probably if I had saved $10 a month from the time I started looking I'd have bought one by now. Maybe I'll start saving $10/month now.

Silly question, but what is a CPT?
