I brought my eights with me to Eric's, so I already have them with me. It's true that the ones with the kit aren't much, but on weekends when I forget to bring any with me, at least they are something. I mainly just wanted something to do tonight and tomorrow night, and all I brought with me was Sculpted Buns, Hips and Thighs and I did that last night. I might pick up a pair of 5s and 8s some time to keep here permanently.

I'm really looking forward to it, but I'm waiting until later this evening, when I have the living room to myself. His daughter is here right now with toys spread out all over the place, watching cartoons, but her mom picks her up at 7:00.

I remember the flaming weenies also !!! Gosh, I can't believe you've been gone that long - it means I've been posting for as long as that.

Hi Rosalind!

LOL. I wish I could remember some of those old posts. Rainy and I used to go on humor tangents, but I imagine they are long gone! Those were good times.

Hehe, the flaming weenies popped into my head too. Seeing you posting, Joan, is quite the blast from the past (and a nice one at that). I must say that I like the GAIAM Firms much more than I expected, as I am one who didn't like most of the Goodtimes era. The current workouts aren't as difficult or interesting as the Classics and the workouts that came right after, but I do like the functional fitness aspect. They sort of remind me of the workouts you see every month in magazines like Shape or Fitness.

Speaking of those who haven't posted in a while, all the recent kettlebell talk makes me think of Aline, who was hip to the kettlebell thing years ago. I wonder what she thinks of its sudden popularity.

Weenies

I wish I could use my old flaming weenies in my sig, but I don't think we can do that anymore. LOL Anyway, the flaming weenies say "Hi". They are over in the living room watching TV. Bwahahahaha!!

Hi Joan!
I see you've gotten lots of good information, but I just wanted to stop by and say Hi, I was with you at the first BSS1 informercial too, along with Judy.
Welcome back!
My "little one" is 16 now and about 3 inches taller than I am. Where does that time go anyway??

Barbara P

PS - meant to say - the new firms are confusing to me too and I didn't take a break, LOL. I have most of them. I love Emily's Power Half Hour for a short, sweet, power packed workout.
I'm hankering after the Wave, but can't justify it right now.

I am also dying to go back to SC - I went every year for years but haven't been back in about 5 years. Everything has changed.

Hi Barb!!

Hey Barb!!

Well, I just finished Hi-Def Sculpt and I loved it. I definitely can heavy up on it, which made me feel pretty good too. It's nice and basic, but with a few little twists that I liked (like combining lifts with crunches). I'm really happy I bought the set, and feel really good being back exercising too.

On a more amusing note, I'm on the DVD!!! LOL I watched the segment about the Firm Believers Club, after the workout, and there I was in my sweaty, purple cami right behind Stephanie Corley in some footage they used from BSS1. How COOL! I can't wait to tell Eric I'm on the DVD!!

Welcome back!

I have a few of the Gaiam Firms and I like the ones that I have: the Transfirmation kit, Total Body Time Crunch, and Total Body Toner. I'll have to watch that intro segment and look for you!

The Gaiam Firms are often called the "pink Firms" here. They are not "The FIRM" but I don't expect them to be and I can enjoy them for what they are.

Cardio Overdrive

I just finished Cardio Overdrive, and I didn't like it. There were a couple of issues not directly related to the workout that might have influenced how I felt though. I was tired, I couldn't turn up the volume where I needed it to be, I had to try to be quiet as far as jumping and thumping on the floor, and I didn't have enough room. I'm at my boyfriend's house, and his living room is the only space to work out in and it's very small. Add to that the fact that he is sleeping (he works nights), and I felt like I really had to step lightly and hold back. The fact that I didn't preview the workout also probably didn't help.

That said, it had a lot of elements that I really dislike - hopping, high knees and running in place. Yes, I know you don't have to do them and can modify, but I find that makes it hard to keep up with the pace of the choreography. I'm not sure this one is a keeper. I'll give it another try when I'm more up to it. Even poor Sue Mi looked stressed out trying to do the beginner moves and keep up.

It reminded me of the original Firm Fat Blaster, which I also hated until I eventually grew to like it once I was in good enough shape not to be destroyed by the Chica Kielbasa (lol) part. I think this one was just not a good choice for me right now since I'm out of shape, and it incorporates elements that discourage me. Now is the time to stick with workouts that I really love until I'm in a more diligent place.
