Maybe something like the Petrone balls? Just happened to think of those since I have an old set.

I haven't done the Yamuna face rolling in years & this has rekindled my interest. I did get the whole kit. I got rid of the larger ball years ago, it was just a pillow substitute. I did keep the face-rolling ball. I suppose I haven't done it lately b/c of the time commitment. I found it long and tedious. But, I do remember doing one side and then seeing the difference!
I have a Petrone ball and it's harder/firmer than the Yamuna.

I have the gold, pearl and black Yamuna balls and would be hard-pressed to come up with a true equivalent - just tossed Petrone out in case someone had those and wanted to give it a shot. Mine need some air (on the to do list ), so they would be a little softer right now. I'm having a difficult time coming up with a description of the texture of the Yamuna balls.....closer to the texture or a pilates/Coregous type of ball, but more substantial.

LOL - you can see I'm definitely scratching my head here!

Some people were using a yoga ball and even a jade ball with light pressure.

sue hitzmann has a couple of face relaxing techniques - one of them (youtube video) involves indirect stimulation benefitting the face using her soft squishy ball (you stimulate your hands, then use the foam roller to relax the neck):

the other one uses direct contact/stimulation (first one is a video, second is an article):
