Grip Strength (2021)
I've been noticing more articles about grip strength being a predictor or assessment tool for both mental and physical health.
Here is a video and a couple of articles: A Stronger Hand Grip Is Linked To Better Health And Increased Longevity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tXplUrq67w How Strong Your Grip Is Says A Lot About Your Health https://www.iflscience.com/health-an...t-your-health/ How to Improve Your Grip Strength https://www.healthline.com/health/grip-strength Some believe that certain grip exercises can lower blood pressure. I bought one of those grip dynamometers and did the tests. Depending on the chart you look at (and they all don't agree). I'm normal to low normal. I need to "get a grip!" Notes: Warm up your arms, hands and wrists before testing. You have to measure in the same position each time to measure improvements. The grip gadget is harder to use if you have longer nails. And - don't use hand lotion before the test.

Old thread alert!!!!
thank you for the post.
Our exercises affect more than I even think. this must be why doctors have you squeeze their two middle fingers, I did not associate my grip strength with this procedure. I'm glad i went looking and found this as having a reason, knowing what I'm doing helps me connect to my exercise. Glad I'm picking up Indian clubs because at least they are a fun thing to do.. maybe I can carry more grocery bags in the house also instead of making 5 trips to the car, to the steps into the house. agghhh
