Well, although I haven't received a response to my email (it's only been one day!) I am happy that they amended their website. I have a feeling that heads will roll in their ad department over this one! I'm really glad that they have responded in some way because I don't want to give up my Detour bars! LOL!

I did receive a reply, and they were appologetic - it was pretty much the same reply that another VFer posted, but also addressed some of my specific comments at the end. It made me feel a little better, and reading now that they changed the website makes me feel even better - there is a lot of power on this board

Yes they changed the one page but if you click on the ad for the other bars the small version of the peanut butter add still has the woman's bust.

I think they are trying for a panacea.

Dang it! And I was hoping to see the full ad...

I disagree with the comment that the picture is not suitable for a woman's magazine. It depends on the magazine. ;-)

As to a women's FITNESS magazine, well, that's another story altogether. I sent my complaints to T&AHers and the OneWay folks.

There are SO many of us in here, I think we really SHOULD do a letter campaign about the changes. I don't know how long ago it changed hands. I really like certain things about the magazine, the rotation issues, proper form guidance and such, but have always been bothered by the advertising. Both the quantity and the quality. You promote health and then push crap like hydroxycut and such. And although in competition they DO wear that ridiculous clothing, why do we need it in the magazine. Put the competitor on the page in proper fitness wear with sneakers, PLEASE. But now this has gotten to be just too much. I so agree with all the posts that question why they would use this tactic in a WOMEN'S magazine! We all know that men think with their second head, but women are not going to be motivated to buy a magazine because it features anorexic, silicone breasted, 75% naked women!

I for one have copied down the address and WILL be writing them.
