Margaret's Fitness Becomes You (Volume 1, Program C Upper Body workout); (Volume 2 Program C: calves, quads, Hamstrings and Glutes); (Volume 2 Program B: abs, Outer thigh, Inner thigh and Cool Down)

I started off wanting to do an upper body workout but when I finished that I felt like adding on more so I ended up doing a full body workout.

Beth and Pam, thank you kindly for the mystery recommendations! I'll see if my library has any of them.

Sandra, if you have a set of two 1/2 pound ankle weights, you can velcro them together to make a 1 pound above-the-knee weight.

Hi!

Today's Workout: Poise & Grace from Jessica Smith's Build Balance & Inner Strength. No outside walks today.

Paine: That's a clever idea -- sorry I don't have half-pound leg weights, though. Do you think you might like a historical cozy mystery series? My two favorites are the Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen (the first one is called Her Royal Spyness), and the Phryne Fisher series by Kerry Greenwood (don't be put off by the title of the first one which is Cocaine Blues). Both series take place in the late 1920s/early 1930s.

Waving to all!

Just did this slow DB balance workout from Amy's Beach Fitness that I really liked:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rR-...index=3&t=298s

Has anyone else used the channel? After I did the workout, I stumbled on this sad story:

Todays workouts:
~Taught Essentrics
~Jessica’s Total Body Strength 31
~15 min gentle rebounding
~Neighbourhood walk, step total 10,457
~Hip focused stretches

Sandra - Thanks for the Rhys Bowen suggestion. I have a hold on Her Royal Spyness at the library. I love British fiction, especially mysteries.

Beth - Thanks for the links, I have subscribed to Amy’s channel. Her story is very sad, as a parent I can’t imagine anything worse. It makes me think of Jenny Ford who lost her son to suicide after a struggle with mental illness. Heartbreaking.

Pam, yes, I'm not a parent but could still feel how powerful that sadness and loss must be.

Paine, if you Google "cozy mystery" and "[topic]" you should be able to find options that align with your interests. I agree with Pam that the Hannah Fluke series was much better early on but has gotten bad. I'm enjoying Lorna Barrett's Booktown series and have started a second series from her - she writes a number of them under several different pseudonyms.

Sandra I didn't know that there were historical cozy mysteries! I used to read much more historical fiction but kind of burned out when some of them got to be so overly long. I do still read period novels - the one I am reading now is set post-WWII.

cyana, hope your week stays non-overwhelming!

Waves to Pat and anyone else popping in; happy Friday eve!

Sandra, thank you for the book recommendations! I added them to my Amazon Book wish list so I can keep track of which ones I want to read.

Beth, I like the look of that slow DB balance workout you gave a link to--thanks for sharing!
Ahh, that's heartbreaking about Amy's son. Sigh...

Paine, suicide is heart-breaking. I don't think Amy ever says whether her son died by suicide or a drug overdose, but either way, my heart went out to her.

I thought Amy’s son’s passing could be either an overdose or suicide. I know Jenny’s son’s was suicide. Either way it’s heartbreaking.

Good morning all! They had a Covid clinic at work yesterday, and I ended up getting the current booster. I had made up my mind not to get the latest booster, but within the last two weeks increasing amounts of people in my circle are coming down with mild cases of it. I don't want any case of it and decided it's best to keep the antibodies fresh. Thankfully I'm not having horrible reactions like with the others, just fatigue and a hangover-like headache.

For some nurturing, yesterday I did:

~ Ellen's Walk Refresh
~ Ellen's Yoga Mat Workout
~ Kassandra's Gentle Bedtime Yoga
~ 6,750 steps

Paine, that's a good idea about velcroing the two ankle weights together.

Beth, that video is so sad. What a difficult discussion to have.

Waves to all!

Pat, I hope you don't have a reaction to the booster! I plan to get mine in a few weeks - I want to do it prior to flying for Thanksgiving.
