Fascinating thread. I've never tried Callanetics for any length of time, but my experience is that nothing slims my legs like brisk walking for 30-40 minutes daily, in addition to whatever my normal workout might be. I do the walk in the evening, which means it can only be outdoors from about April-October. I replace it with Leslie or the Nordictrac or a stepper when it's too dark/cold to walk outside.

So interesting how different we all are in terms of results!

I've been doing a shorter version of the original workout - I do only the stretches/exercises that involve the hips and thighs. I skip the stomach/most of the warmups/back stretch.

I just purchased super callanetics on itunes because the original was starting to be too easy for me; I did one session and it kicked my butt. I'll post again if I have any further noteworthy results.

Super late to this thread, but here it goes. I find incorporating floor work for the legs has helped me tighten the quads, butt, and hammies.

Bridge work with weights on the hips.
Table work: shoot outs, side leg lifts.
Lying side work: Both inner and out thigh exercises.

I just started adding floor work back in within the last 2 weeks and I'm already seeing the beginning/start of the inner thigh curve. The quad right at the top of the knee is beginning to be more defined and thinning out. Small improvements for sure, but it's a start.

Hope you find that exercise that works for your body.

TinaT, how many days a week do you do floor work and do you hit all areas in one session?

I'm going for 2 day right now. I'd like to add more. Since I tweaked my knee in June, I've been careful with the squats, lunges and dips. The light bulb finally came on and I realized I could do floor work without putting a lot of pressure on the knees. Plus, I needed muscle confusion. Most of these workouts hit all areas, plus some upper body thrown in. My focus with these are the lower body but I'll take what I can get for abs and upper whenever it's offered.

Here are the workouts I'm using right now:

Yes, all Firms:

Lower Body Sculpting Parts 33 mins
Sculpted Buns, Hips & Thighs w/Tracie (+ abs,abs,abs)LOL 45 min.
Volume 1 Warm-up, Giant Floor Set, Core & Stretch 37 min.
Volume 2 Warm-up, Floor Work, Final Stretch 40 min.
Volume 5 Warm-up, Floor Work, Final Stretch 26 min.

I only workout 4 days a week on average, but 5 is my goal.

ETA: I just upped my weight load for the first time in 28 weeks. I know this will make a difference as well. Also, I use 5 lb ankle weights for floor work.
