Every Day in September - getting it done as if it was New Year!

THEME: Getting it done as if it was New Year!

Welcome to the Every Day Checkin!
We are a small group who aim to do some form of physical activity every day, whatever that means for YOU (but don't kid yourself about it either)

Remember all that motivation you had on Dec.31?
Well bring it BACK! 4 months to go - let's see the year out how we hoped we would - like we knew we could.

NEWCOMERS, RETURNERS, LURKERS,... might as well say:
EVERYONE
is WELCOME!

Daily posts - not mandatory, nor even "sternly preferred" - but we love it if you do.
Weekly posts, drive-by notes, daily essays all about you.... any of those are perfectly fine - no pressure, EXCEPT to diligently try to add serious movement to your day - every day.

Lexicon:
WERD = Well Earned Rest Day, but even rest days can include movement
TERD = Totally Expected Rest Day, though not especially well-earned, like a planned happy event
TURD = Totally Unexpected Rest Day, hopefully also a happy event
HERD = of TURDS - usually declared after the THIRD TURD in a row. Try to avoid these at all costs, as they can move in & get comfortable, getting OUT of your comfort zone is the way to make change happen

Hi, ladies. It's been a long time since I've done any check-ins but I had wondered if Kay B was in the flood zone in Tennessee. When I went looking for her posts I founds she hasn't posted in over a month and back then she was having trouble with low blood pressure and other health stuff. Has anyone heard from her recently?

I checked in on her a while ago, when she stopped coming to the check-in, but that was well over a month ago.
She HAS posted on FaceBook recently.

Checking in

Helen: I've adjusted to our different seasons (of winter/summer) but now have to readjust for fall/spring. Wrapping my head around it! Interesting on Father's day

Waves to Lili and anyone else reading!!!

Ok, so we're in September and my reset didn't go as well as I had hoped. But today is a new day and hope springs eternal! ONWARD!

9/1/2021: Rowed 10 mins, 10 mins. happiness meditation (using my back pod)

9/2/2021: Rowed 10 mins, 10 mins core

9/3/2021: Rowed 15 mins. with Sera then rowed 20 mins. with Mike, Jump Rope 10 mins, Bike: Bradley Rose 15 mins. low impact, 10 mins. Emma recovery ride and 10 mins. Peace meditation

9/4/2021: Bradley Rose's Hiit & Hills ride (30 mins.) Hannah Corbin's 30 minutes Eric Church ride, 10 mins. Bradley Rose cooldown ride, 5 minutes core with Rebecca Kennedy and then met a friend to try our hand at Pickleball. (First time ever!)

I like the back pod. I can actually meditate using it (maybe my focus is no longer wandering when I'm sinking into the back pod? I dunno). The Eric Church ride was meh. I expected more. Not sure why.

And there we have it. Renewed sense of hope here.

Good golly, I'm already behind!
Helen - thank you again for starting us off!
Cleda - I looked into the BackPod, but found some other interesting devices that might suit me better. Glad you are enjoying it and that it is helping with the meditation.
I often wonder about Kay, glad to hear that she is at least posting on Facebook.

9/1 - 2 mile walk
5 Min. Core Strength w/ Selena
9/2 - just push-ups
9/3 - short bike ride plus push-ups
9/4 - home again and back to real workouts!
dog walk
20 Min. Bodyweight Strength w/ Callie
10 Min. Core Strength w/ Andy Speer
Classic Mile w/ Celina (Leslie's site)
9/5 - dog walk
Jessica's Power Interval Walk
Classical Stretch S8-E24

We had a great week at the beach, the whole family minus my SIL, who had to work. It was a lot having everyone together for that long, but I'm already missing it!

Labor Day

Mixing myself up. I saw I posted for the 4th, but then thought it was Sunday cuz it's Labor Day and I'm off work, but then realized it's Monday so I did NOT post for the 5th, cuz it was Sunday. I obviously need more coffee!!!

Lili: I think I like the backpod cuz I have to sink into it and it doesn't involve a lot of work. I do hope it works (for me!). I don't use the chirp wheel as much as I thought I would. I'm hoping that once I use the backpod enough, I can graduate to the chirp wheels.

Not a lot to report! Good to see everyone. I have other check ins to get to, so I'll be quick:

9/5/2021: 20 mins. Daniel McKenna's Premiere (20 mins.) run on the treadmill**, 10 mins. cool down run with Matt, 60 mins. My Mixtape Ride with Jenn Sherman, 5 mins. Post ride stretch

** This was Daniel's premiere run. He's Irish and has a heavy accent. I must watch a lot of PBS and British dramas as I had no problem with his accent. (it was a common complaint on the boards!) Will try him again. Didn't love him, didn't dislike him. . . I was heavy legged from Pickleball though (and didn't realize it till I started to run).

Jenn's ride was ... BLECH ... She is probably one of my (and I do have a list) least favorite bike instructors??? I don't know why I keep going back to her. Thinking I'll enjoy her or her rides. I don't. She stands a lot (instead of pedaling) and swears more than I like (although ALOT less than she used to) and she SINGS ALONG. I sing a long too - but it's in the privacy of my house. If I wanted kareoke? I'd go to the bar. I must remember this in the future. AND it was a 60 mins. ride. What was I thinking????? All to say: I still don't care for her style.

Ok, gotta run ....
Make it a great day/week.
