Every Day in AUGUST: Persistently aiming for higher consistency. :D

THEME: Persistently aiming for higher consistency.

Welcome to the Every Day Checkin!
We are a small group who aim to do some form of physical activity every day, whatever that means for YOU (but don't kid yourself about it either)

Patterns of behaviour, consistency, where you regularly attend... these show who you are & drive who you become.

NEWCOMERS, RETURNERS, LURKERS,... might as well say:
EVERYONE
is WELCOME!

Daily posts - not mandatory, nor even "sternly preferred" - but we love it if you do.
Weekly posts, drive-by notes, daily essays all about you.... any of those are perfectly fine - no pressure, EXCEPT to diligently try to add serious movement to your day - every day.

Lexicon:
WERD = Well Earned Rest Day, but even rest days can include movement
TERD = Totally Expected Rest Day, though not especially well-earned, like a planned happy event
TURD = Totally Unexpected Rest Day, hopefully also a happy event
HERD = of TURDS - usually declared after the THIRD TURD in a row. Try to avoid these at all costs, as they can move in & get comfortable, getting OUT of your comfort zone is the way to make change happen

So here's my first post:

Sunday, 1st of Aug.
Buddy: 47min, Shaun Thompson - Rockin' Body - Rock It Out

Whoah! That was MUCH harder than I expected it to be!! It's an aerobic weight training workout, fast paced, and need VERY light weights. Started with 3kg as log tag for weights was "light". BIG mistake! Should have read my own 'weights' note first - where I had "used mostly 1.5kg" from 2014 - saw it when logged it as done & entered the weights I'd used.

Need my arrow!!

Helen: Thanks so much for starting the thread. I need my arrow so here I am! 3kg would definitely be too much for some of the "light weight" workouts that Peloton offers and I imagine your workout was much the same. Like you, I often fool myself and try to start with my 5 lbers and then swap down. Although lately? I have been starting with 3 lbers. . . so for you to start at 3 kg??? You're crazy!!! hahahahahahahahahahaha! Are you feeling it??? (I can sort of do kgs to lbs as it's close to double - not quite ... but it works for me)

Ok, I have to get the tomatoes picked, get to the grocery store and get my August started. It's supposed to rain and I want that all done before the rain comes in.

Make it a great day. Will check in later with something.

Yes, I roughly halve what the vids say, and the higher up means drop another half a kilo as well, so 10lb ~ 4.5kg.

Monday - a week without DH but Bridget is here and made my morning coffee to go to work this morning!

Speaking of which, time to leave!
Have a great day/week/month!!

I've gotten so out of shape from teleworking ... being in front of a computer 8 hrs a day and the stress of everything going on.
I believe consistency is the secret!

Monday, 2nd of Aug.
36min, Tracy York & Michelle Dozois - Work It Off Cardio Dance - Cardio Mix, with buddy
Last time for this one on our choreo Monday's.
Not sure what's next, perhaps Rhythmic Step, or the Abbie Appel we did recently - it was too complex for buddy - we stopped & did something else, & I did it later.

Need to investigate my iMac for a reason it's slow on VF, and ONLY VF - as I'm at work now, on a computer MUCH slower than my hotted up iMac & on school WiFi that's MUCH slower than my speedy home broadband, but NOT getting the problem.

Could be a hunt for several hours, but hopefully a quick fix. It took being "naughty" by posting whilst at work to find out!

Thank you for the Welcome !! I'm working summer camp this week, on my feet all day, so no "workout". Will focus on yoga:

Kassandra / #26 Evening Yoga series

Helen - thank you once again for starting us off! I'm having issues with the workout TV again, so I feel for you and your computer issues!
Welcome Anita! We so enjoy new faces joining in and hope that we help to encourage you to keep moving. I started out just doing a month here or there to keep myself motivated and ended up staying.
Waves to Cleda!

8/1 - short dog walk with the grandkids.
GetHealthyU's Calorie Sizzler (more intense than I was ready for, but I modified)
the last workout from Margaret Richard's Good For You
8/2 - regular 1.25 mile dog walk
3.5 mile run in the state park. They have added a few new trails since I was last there, and I ended up going farther than I had planned due to a wrong turn. It's all good.

No time to check in ...

But wanted to welcome Anita!!!

You'll enjoy it here. Being on your feet all day is grueling. So stretching, yoga (if one enjoys it! tee-hee --- if you get to know me, I'm not one of them) ... is all good. Love having new people join in.

My remote woes are better (sorry Helen - Mac problems, Lili - tv problems). I spent a few dollars and I now have a remote that works for the tv and can happily do some dvds. (if I make the time) ahhhhhhh there in lies the problem: TIME.

That said? Off to join some friends for a quick ride this a.m.

Later gators.
