Right now I have both a 7lb and 10lb mace. I could go heavier, will probably purchase heavier, but opted for lighter to get down the movements and develop more grip strength. The 10lb mace has a wider grip and is longer than the 7lb. Those were the weights recommended on the ONNIT sight for beginning women as well and they are great for the movement patterns used for.

Looking forward to ordering one. Thank you. They make the five pound, who do they suggest uses that, because that’s what I was thinking to start with.

I just saw one video on vevo, are there others to work along with.

I think a 5lb would be cool, ya it will be light but thats cool. Really its mastering the technique, form, working with the leverage and dynamic movement that's important to start. I mean you gotta be careful, LOL, if your weight was too heavy you could hurt yourself . I remember one time I wasn't paying attention for a hot sec, distracted by my dog and I got myself in the back doing a 360 swing outta control. Luckily I was fine but definitely a "hey crazy lady watch out you're literally swinging heavy metal around your body" moment, LOL

Ya, agreed on KB's and the Mace offering an alternative to DBs, and Marcus is great! I haven't seen any from KBK but ya never know what may come ;-)

I bought the 7 lb. mace from Onnit several years ago. It came with a downloadable workout:

https://www.onnit.com/ultimate-steel-mace-workout/

I haven't used it for awhile. A constantly aggravated elbow injury will not allow it. It is a great system. Arms, core, mobility, strength. I think 7 lb. is a good starter weight for the exercises recommended.

It does sit near my front door. Quite a conversation piece.

This looks really cool and I was considering getting one til I read an Amazon review that said to watch your ceilings. I have regular height ceilings and a ceiling fan so it's out for me I don't see me going outside to use it either. It reminds me of that sledgehammer workout, was that called shovel glove? Similar concept-- weight on the end of a stick.
