OMG, I don't get on VF one day and I am pages behind!

Liz, HI!!! So glad to see your return!! But, I understand now your MIA status!! Holy cow, you're dealing with a lot! I am so sorry about your noisy neighbor - but, really, who in the heck MOOS??? That is just plain weird! And I am just flabbergasted, truth be told, so I don't have any suggestions. :/ I hope you get it sorted out and he stops his cow-like sounds, LOL! I am indeed very thankful for quiet neighbors and I am surrounded by dogs (on both sides and behind me and two doors over even!) I never hear any barking (or mooing, ha!) //And, thank you so very much for your sweetness about my dad!! I really appreciate it!! I do understand the caretaking of parents - there's so many of us on here who are experiencing the same thing! It definitely is a full time job. Feel free to vent here anytime - I bet that did feel good to get all that off your chest! (((hugs)))

ASAS & Elsie, I hope the same for you two also about sorting out the bad situations!! So frustrating when you have to deal with other people's inconsiderations!!

T2B, my sister is doing great (may even be taking advantage of the situation by having me do everything, LOL, but she is handling paperwork for mom so that's good). I'd rather do the physical errands any day!//Hope you enjoy your new FitBit!!

Helen, enjoy your time off!!

Liz - Typing all that out sounds like a good way to vent some of your frustrations. Interesting conversation with the mom. I agree with your take too, you can feel bad for her and resent it that because of their poor boundaries, she’s putting the burden on you to address their lack of boundaries. I’m glad the cops came out especially if it means he’s aware of the issues he’s causing outside the family. Seems like he had no reason to reign it in if his own family was afraid to speak up. I feel for you, you have so much going on and I love that you have strong boundaries. Just be extra cautious for a bit.

ASAS - what nerve to ask for your Wi-Fi p/w? You’re nicer than me because I wouldn’t have answered the door. If I’m not expecting you, you will be ignored.. Lol Sorry that you have inconsiderate neighbors.

Hi AMD!

AMD, I didn't know that your sister had surgery, sending healing vibes her way. It was funny that you had to take your cute tank top off while working out, I understand completely! How is the soreness going? Did the upper body got some fun too? // Thanks, inconsiderable is the right word, thankfully, there are days where we barely noticed that they are there.

Liz, I was mostly meaning (about "back to normal") about the home long renovations and the neighbor issue with the mooing. I think your mom is lucky to have you and that you are happy to help as much as you can. I understand the out of comfort zone thing, I need to work on that a bit myself. I am glad your neighbour wasn't mad about you calling the police, but as you, I do think they should fix it themselves, and not rely on you to solve the problem. Why can't they all sit down with him and talk? It would be great to let him know that he is ruining the quality sleep of no just everyone in the family, but in the neighborhood too, isn't it a parc near by where he could go and moo without disturbing others? Or suggest any other solution. Maybe, are they scare to talk to him? Who knows. // Your comment about not caring if your neighbors are criminals as long as they are quiet was so funny!! I don't know if my previous neighbor was actually a film maker, but she did sound like one! I have an 8 y/o daughter, so it wasn't funny to hear her screaming like that at whatever hour she got visited. Thankfully, my DD was never around when that happened. My new neighbors are from another country (I am too, different country though, my SO is from here), the guy came first for several months, he actually used to talk with my SO quite often, as soon as he would go out, he would open his door too, and even ask where is he going, or where we were, etc, I though it was a bit too much. But, other than his sporadic loud music with door open (which made it sound it even louder), he was mostly quite. He totally changed after his wife arrived, at least he is not checking on us anymore.

T2B, lol I understand, I don't like unexpected visits, or people knocking like that either. He was dissapointed for not getting the password!

That was mostly (all?) my fault.

It actually was the past couple of weeks. I have been spending 6-8 hours with her every day since the move. I just didn't want her on her own until she got more familiar with her room, that part of the building, the other residents and the new way of life. Plus, things have, apparently, been slower and quieter in AL than usual with less things to do for the residents so I've been trying to make sure that she is not alone and has some company. I actually couldn't get over to her place today, and the guilt and concern!
I thought the move would have me being a little more hands off, but it's actually been the opposite.

You have all endeared yourselves to me so much already. You have been so understanding and patient with my posts which, I am just now realizing, were completely bonkers! It didn't feel like venting at the time, but it seems obvious I don't have a good awareness about those kinds of things. I'm so embarrassed!

I feel like I have already made you all regret letting me come in to your group! LOL I'll be simmering down now and will not be nearly as active in my personal posts. Thank you all, though, for your gracious patience.

We still have so much to do and have been working on the place for so long, renovations ARE our normal. But we have been VERY excited to have a working sink back in the kitchen (we were washing dishes in the bathroom for 15 months!), functioning outlets and a face plate on the light switch! It's the little things.

I am actually usually a bit more graphic about my way of phrasing that, but since I am the newbie here, I did NOT want to speak too familiarly. It's really not appropriate for mixed company, and I'm trying to not COMPLETELY alienate the JTW crew.

Oh my goodness. If I had a young daughter, I would have felt the same way as you!

It does sound like it was a bit over the top, but maybe he was just lonely without his noisy wife? Either way, I would have felt the same as you.

Waves to everybody! Good start to the New Year I hope?
AMD, I didn't realize about your Sis's surgery either. Sending feeling better thoughts her way!
Hello Mrs.Lightyear & welcome back.
Haaha Liz ..yes I guess that was me b_tchin about the noise all the time that you recall. A subway/skytrain started to be built just 2 houses up from our home of 11 years and they began doing most of their work after 1230 am, so when we finally found another place, we moved. It was great and quiet for 8 months, but then the landlords wanted to move in themselves, so we had to go. Then we moved here and within 8 weeks, a new pipeline began to be put down. They're tunneling right through a once protected mountain. We thought we checked everything like that out prior to the move, but all the permits etc got put through very quickly. Pipelines here can basically do whatever they want. Anyway ..
The only thing I can suggest for your awful overnight noise issue is to try Pink Noise, if you haven't already. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. I had a neighbour one time who suffered from Tourettes, but luckily, it wasn't a bother overnight. It's a tough situation because they do not have control over the disability/condition. Also, I completely agree with what you're saying about being settled and comfortable in your own home.
Oh ASAS, your neighbours situation sounds like a headache. If it wasn't so bothersome, it might be entertaining right? Aerobics all hours of the night? Grrr. I'm so sorry.
Hey Jane ..hope everything is okay.

Sorry if I missed anything!!

Liz, no worries, whatsoever!! Don’t feel embarrassed! I hope we could make you feel somewhat better about your situation by talking about it….?

Thanks, ASAS & Elsie! This was my sister’s 2nd hip replacement surgery, so she pretty much knew what to expect and knew what to do to escalate her progress. She goes to the Dr tomorrow so I think she’s even excited to be going there just to be getting out of the house!!

Helen, that does NOT sound like you’re enjoying your time off!! Make sure you get some “me” time in there, too...

Jane, where did you disappear to?? Still working out?

Waves~~~

((Elsie))!!
My goodness, you guys have certainly been through the ringer with your homes. Is the pipeline what pushed you to do the cross country move? I LOVE the idea of getting to live somewhere else someday, but the thought of having to pack everything up fills me with DREAD. Will you be renting to see if the area you're moving to suits you or are you already familiar with it from when you used to live on that side of the country?

I hope you didn't tweak your back too much the other day and that it's feeling better.

Liz, don't be embarrassed at all, you can be as chatty as you want, it sometimes feel good to vent a bit, I know I feel better // I am so glad that you finally got your sink back in the kitchen in good working condition, it is not fun to wash the dishes in the bathroom at all (I have done it a couple of times when our sink got blocked) let alone for so long! As you said, those little things make all the difference!

Elsie, wow I didn't realized you moved twice after the subway building/noise issue, I hope your next move will be the good one, and no issues whatsoever. Best wishes! \\ I hope your back is doing better. Cathe's extended stretch is a goodie!

AMD, I hope her Doctor visit goes smoothly tomorrow. // You made me smile about her getting excited about going just to get out of the house

I was thinking about Jane too, hope she is doing well.

Helen, wow that is quite a bit of courses to get done in so little time. I agree with AMD, does not sound fun at all, hang in there.

Waves to everyone! Take care you all.
