No, I haven't tried the sledge. I really enjoy watching DH use it, though.

I can't believe I've put off adding a sledgehammer to my arsenal of fitness toys. I think it warrants a trip to Home Depot today.

I already have plenty of cinder blocks ...

I have a cinder block in my yard, but I use it to step on so I can reach over the fence to put the garbage in the can without unlocking the gate. Maybe they can graduate to bags of cement. Those suckers are really heavy.

If you want to work out with cinder blocks, go visit a college campus on move-in or move-out day. You might even get paid!

actually when college has ended and moving day is around ,the kitchen employees go from kitchen work to dorm work for the summer . the call is summer conference and usually have my dh and his friend there b/c they are two of the biggest guys the work on campus.after moving them out they tear apart everything in the dorms/townhomes etc to clean repaint and assemble new furniture.move in day is another story they are on their own there.

I have lots of cinder blocks, too. I also have a sandbag, but I need to buy sand for it.

My outdoor gym has the rest of the fitness stuff being discussed, tractor tire, sledge hammer, med balls, ropes, plus kettlebells, etc. I LOVE working out outdoors. I set up a really nice circuit for my dh that was non impact because his right knee has been giving him a lot of grief. His eyes glazed over and instead of putting everything he had into the ropes, sledge hammer, med ball slams, etc., he only put in like 20-25% effort. I finally asked him if I wasting his and my time, and he said, "yes, it wasn't his thing!" He'd rather step up and down my step platform or spend 10 minutes on my spin bike watching Fishing with Ghandi.

Awww, Debbie, if it's any consolation, I would love to play in your back yard! As a matter of fact, I'm heading into my own back yard to play right now - TRX, kettlebells, sledgehammer and big stuff to push around!

How neat to see some Triangle ladies here. I go to church over on Walnut St.

I think this bootcamp is cool...it makes training accessible to those that don't have the spare $ to spend on fitness equipment, for one thing (now obviously, people pay to go to this gym/trainer....but I'm saying how others could put these ideas into work for them).
