I don't know of a specific build-up-to-crow program or workout, but I know I was able to hold it the longest when I was doing a combination of Murph prep workouts (strength and metcon kind of stuff) and Lesley Fightmaster's 30 day beginner's yoga challenge. I'll edit this post and put the link to Lesley's YouTube challenge. That was such a great feeling mentally to achieve that!

Livinleggings on Youtube has really good tutorials in general, including some on Crow, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLbdPAA7sr4
Hope this helps.

Garrie, not sure if this will help, but I remember a yoga teacher I had a few classes with suggesting using a stack of blankets or a block in front of you to rest your head on when working up to holding the pose. The idea was that you needed to position your body much more forward than you realized to get into/hold crow and the block/blankets under the head facilitated that while making you feel supported (no face plants, hah!). I'm sure there are probably videos out there on that.
Aside from that, I fully agree with everything Laura said.
