Beth I am halfway through Olive Kitteridge. I'm really enjoying it although some of it is sad.

My mom and I both tried to read First Grave on the Right and DNF'ed in spite of the humor.

So did I. Having Betwixt on audio is somewhat less irksome. Time will tell if I finish it or not.

Edited to add: I gave up on Betwixt. The writing style just isn't for me.

I have to suddenly finish Why Didn't They Tell Evans? by Agatha Christie by tomorrow. Someone else wants it and the library system only has one copy. I guess it's because Hugh Laurie has adapted the book for a series. I can see why. These characters are the wittiest I've ever seen in an Agatha Christie novel.

Just finished Brighter by the Day by Robin Roberts (of GMA). Very good, uplifting book that I read in an hour.

I'm reading a book about reading called Howard's End on the Landing. It's good but not as engaging as I thought it would be.

Hi,

I just finished Anne Tyler's latest -French Braid and really enjoyed it. Just one of her signature family stories - but I really got into the characters and found myself drawn into their lives - which is always a good sign!

I am now reading Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. So far so good.
