Hi SB,
I'm very sick. I believe that I have a bad case of the flu, since I have not tested positive for covid and I was telling my Italy-crew friend about my symptoms and her daughter, who I interacted with over at her house on Saturday, has the exact same symptoms and tested positive for the flu yesterday. We don't know if I gave it to her or if she gave it to me. It's quite odd, there were 3 other people there (two of her daughters friends) who we interacted with and none of them are sick. Sunday I was COMPLETELY wiped out, as in could not stay upright.
I thought that maybe I could teach on Monday (after getting serious about taking my meds Sunday evening), but it just wasn't happening. I canceled one class and taught the other on Zoom. When the meds wear off I consistently have a fever of between 101-103

, I'm achy, have the chills, am dizzy/fuzzy, low energy, and regardless of the meds, have a persistence cough. I keep thinking that I'll be better and can teach the next day (like I had planned to go in today), but it's just not happening.

I'm trying to see if I can get a tele-appt with the school nurse because I really don't want to have to go to campus and I'm doing all the things that you're supposed to do when you have the flu, but I wonder is she has additional advice.
I haven't worked out. Actually, on Monday I did a little CH but it was too much. I'm so used to being on the go and doing multiple things at once, so the fact that I am essentially, grounded is very humbling.

It's the last week of classes, and also, I was booked solid this week as chair, as we have 3 job candidates coming to campus and they were supposed to meet with me in person. I think we're going to have to reschedule on Zoom.
SB - Glad to hear that you are doing better, and well enough to get in 2, 30 min walks. Yay!

I'm sorry to be such a downer.

I hope that you continue to feel better, and have a great day!
