Good morning!

Planning on walking Gus and doing the cleaning - didn't do it yesterday , but I did repot some amaryllis bulbs that had multiplied to 8 from 3 originals over the years. I've got them going into bloom mode in a few weeks. Otherwise putzing around. It'll be a very nice warm day - hope my driveway melts off the snow and ice! 40F planned.

Laura, Looks like our warm weather is coming your way also ! I guess craftiness doesn't need a calendar much - figured you'd be working on Easter cards, not Christmas cards . Now Adelija is looking to do some indoor mini golfing instead of the spas - yay! 10 minute walk from here!

Paula, I can taste your DH's cookie! Sounds like DH is recovering well from his illness.

Waves to all!

You know how I say days melt away? Well, today really did. We were up too late last night and I woke up before I wanted this morning, so I was still sleepy. I was up for a while and then went back to nap for an hour. When the alarm went off, I shut it off and went back to sleep and ended up sleeping two hours. Then I got my shower and lunch and it was afternoon. I continued working on stamping sentiments in the Christmas cards. I'm getting toward the end of it. I went on a short walk in the afternoon and have caught up on computer stuff.

Anita - I used the wrapping paper we take off gifts and scraps I had from last year, so I wanted to go ahead and get rid of all that stuff. I probably don't have enough, so I'll do another round later in the year. Then, I'll start on Easter cards, especially since I offered to make some for a friend who makes cards for a lot of holidays a non-profit. Fortunately, Easter isn't until April 17 this year. It sounds like Adelija has settled on a good combination of activities for her birthday.

Paula - It sounds like yesterday was a nice day. It was nice of DH to stick to the theme. My DH wanted cellular on his ipad because we use it when we travel some. When I take anything, I take my laptop and have to find WIFI for it.

Good evening. Workout this morning was Pahla B Body Shaping Day 22 Push (Strength) and a Tamillee Floor Stretch.

Anita, I did some cleaning today too. Yay for Adelija choosing mini golf. Such a better choice - mini golf is a lot of fun and you don't have to change your clothes - well maybe your shoes if you're wearing heels. There's a mini golf course on Catalina Island and we used to play there alot in the summer. DH is over his illness. It was so funny, it went away as quickly as it came on. He had a lingering cough, fatique and generally feeling crappy. Then one day he said he felt better and he's felt better since.

Laura, we must have been channeling each other. I had such a hard time falling asleep last night. I lay awake untill well after midnight. When I did fall asleep I went down hard and had a difficult time waking up and getting going this morning. I hate when that happens, the whole day feels out of sync. Yes, good of my DH to stick to the theme - he's enjoying the cookie.

Good morning!

I still haven't cleaned! Argh! Today, I'm planning on walking Gus and hopefully finally getting to the cleaning! Adelija will be volunteering at Flying Pig after school - she's just about racked up 100 hours of volunteering and will quit as soon as she hits that number .

Laura, glad you caught up on your missed sleep - I haven't napped in a loooooong time - not since Adelija is here. Do you use rubber stamps for your text in the cards? lots of stamps? or are they big ones already constructed with the texts? My iPad has wifi capabilities, but I thought about cellular, but learned it wasn't phone like, so ended up buying a phone and a non-cellular iPad. Right now I'm using my iPad for games - there were problems on my old iMac with those. I haven't been able to get Quicken going on my iPad.

Paula, glad DH is feeling better now! I'm sure DH's huge cookie is about the equivalent of the 27 in our title . I don't know if Adelija is still planning on fancy dress for dinner or not, but glad the golf is close by. I'd not golf in heels!

Waves to all!

Today was a bit more productive. For lunch (for me), I made a big pot of sausage tortellini soup. I'll freeze some and take some over for Mom and Dad and eat some in the coming days. In the afternoon, I went to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions. We also had fun with Polly throughout the day.

Paula - It's great that your DH got over the illness as quickly as he did. If we are channeling each other, I hope you got better sleep last night as I did. I was up in the night for a bit, but still got a good night's sleep.

Anita - Yeah, if it was my ipad, I probably wouldn't have gotten the cellular. I think he got that so he could play his games whether he had wifi nor not. I don't get it, but it was his decision... In this case, I had a set of clear stamps that had Christmas verses. I used a stamping platform to do the stamping and that gave me several tries to get the stamping right because it holds the stamp and card in the same place.

Good evening. Workout this morning was Pahla B Body Shaping Day 23 Stretch and a walk with DH in Dana Point Marina. We met a friend for lunch, went to his house afterward and watched Olympic Curling USA v Russia - USA won.

Anita, I hate to appear uninformed but what the heck is Fying Pig - an animal rescue organization? Hope Adelija is having a good time here. 100 hours of volunteer work is admirable.

Laura, is fun with Polly mean opening and closing the door for her? I love to make big pots of soup and freeze them too. My latest love is lentil soup, I found a good recipe on YouTube. I decided it was a little too bland so now I add a red pepper but I've just made my third batch had some for dinner and it was delicious if I do say so myself.

Good morning!

Found out late last night that my brother had had a heart attack a few days ago - general FB message from his wife.... He had ablation done, so hopefully will be getting better soon. I think they were in FL at the time, so I hope they had health insurance coverage there. I'll try giving them a call today. Not the way I wanted to learn about this.

Planning on having a normal Thursday - playing cards with my friends online, maybe doing a yoga class online (very basic chair yoga - not very fun or effective with anything, so not sure if I'll join them), walking Gus and working on putting in new antennas on my stereo system. I vacuumed yesterday!

Laura, your soup sounds delicious! I think if I were to make cards by stamping they'd look like kidnapping ransom demands - I only have individual letters to combine into words - not very pretty or organized .

Paula, I haven't watched much of the Olympics at all - just seen what gets covered in the news. I'm not going to record hours of this coverage... Flying Pig is a local charity shop that Adelija volunteers at - she organizes donations and puts them on the shelves. I like it in that it covers some nicer artsy stuff that wouldn't get displayed at Goodwill or Salvation Army. I also like it in that Adelija can walk to that store. What's the link for the lentil soup recipe? I haven't tried that type of soup, I don't think .

Waves to all!

It is a BEAUTIFUL day here today - sunny, clear, relatively warm. This morning, I went to Mom and Dad's for monkey bread. It was good and I enjoyed hanging out for a while with them. Then, I went to Trader Joe's and picked up a pretty big load of groceries. This afternoon, I'll catch up some around the house and then get out of the house into the day.

Anita - Ransom note lettering is a thing in the lettering world. Usually, people cut out letters from magazines, but your stamps could work. I'm so sorry about your brother and how you found out. That would be off-putting. I hope you can find out more easily.

Paula - No, Polly hung out inside more than usual the past few days. We have some stuffed mice on a string that we drag around to play with her and she sat on DH's lap a lot and she followed me around and asked to be petted quite a bit. Of course, today she is out in the warmth and sunshine. We haven't seen much of her and probably won't the next few days since this sunny and warm pattern is supposed to last through Saturday.

Good evening. Workout this morning was Pahla B Body Shaping Day 24 Met Con followed by Yoga with Tim Morning Stretch.

Beautiful day here. DH had a phone appointment with his doctor today so he had to hang close to home. So he wanted to get out of the house for a bit so we went out to breakfast. Other than that we didn't do a darn thing of interest.

Anita, what a difficult way to find out your brother had a heart attack! I hope he's OK. I'm with you if I had to make greeting cards they would look like they were ransom notes or done by a toddler. I only watch snippets of the Olympics of the events I'm interested in. Thanks for letting me know what Flying Pig is. We have a few good thrift stores around us that have art or furniture in addition to clothing and housewares. You can find the soup on YouTube - "The Best Lentil Soup - Downshiftology". I have a few changes - I add a red pepper, use spinach instead of kale, and use fire roasted tomatos with chillis from Trader Joes.

Laura, every time I read about your lives with Polly I get a good laugh. Things have gone from "we can't get too close to her because DH is allergic" to she has a room, toys, and a spot on your DH's lap. So ransom note lettering is a thing in the lettering world - who knew, I never would have thunk it.

Good morning!

Planning on working at the WRC, but first taking Adelija to Starbucks to pick up some coffee and taking her to school - it's her 18th birthday today. At midnight one of her friends stopped by with flowers and a cake - oy! And Adelija's been on the phone talking with people most of the night. I'll be taking Gus for a walk and will stop by a store to pick up some flowers for Adelija - tonight we'll go out for sushi with three of her friends.

I did talk with my brother yesterday and he is doing better - he didn't have a heart attack, but an arrhythmia that just about had him pass out. He did have cardio specialists at the hospital burn that section of his heart that caused the arrhythmia accessing it through his groin blood vessels - he had just had a monitor for it from his home hospital. Hopefully now he's fixed. They treated everything as an emergency in the hopes it will be covered by his insurance, rather than a emergency visit followed by a planned procedure in a non-covered hospital - that would be expensive. He spent four days in the hospital. He's "home" from the hospital and continuing his vacation in FL - they are staying in a condo down there till 2/21.

Laura, sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday! I think Polly has your hearts on a string that she's playing with .

Paula, I used to watch the Olympics all the time, but now have so much recorded on my Tivo that I don't want to get further behind... The time difference with China and the Covid restrictions on audience don't help either. Thanks for the lentil soup recipe!

Waves to all!
