Suggesting to her that she see a naturopathic / functional medicine practitioner might help. If you go that route ask around for the best ones in your area. Just like with traditional medicine, some practitioners have much better reviews than others.

My DD had mono in the 5th grade and it hit her hard for 6 months.

My youngest brother had it his freshman year of high school and it affected him for a year.

I had been suffering from fatigue for many years. My primary doctor just kind of blew me off. About four years ago while at the chiropractor I mentioned it. He asked if I had ever had mono. I think I may have had in the fourth grade but we rarely went to the doctor. He ordered a lab test for Epstein Barr. My levels were extremely high. I now take a supplement for it called astragalus. It has helped a lot.
Hope she gets some relief!
