I'm getting a new phone soon, and I don't think it will support my extremely old first-gen Apple Watch. I started pricing a new AW, but the cheapest I can get something new is almost $250, and between that and the new phone, I think I need a different solution (either permanently or temporarily). I used to use FitBits, but I was not always content with the data they provided, and although I got used to the AW (I've had it for I think five years now; its model was already old when I got it), I also didn't totally love all its features.
Here's generally what I'm looking for a watch to do/track:
- heart rate
- sleep
- stairs climbed
- steps
- calories burned per workout
- active calories burned throughout the day
- number of active hours
- telling time accurately
If it also has GPS in it to track things like hikes/walks, that would be nice, even if it requires the phone to be nearby. The app needs to be pretty easy to use, too.
Also, I have a pretty severe nickel allergy, so I need the watch and band to be of stainless steel, rubber, or other hypoallergenic material with no metal buckles or things, which is one thing in the Apple Watch's favor.
In terms of price, I'll go up to maybe $150 but that's about it.
