Kettlebell brand advice

Hi,

I've been using a 10lb KB from GNC and I'm ready to kick it up a few notches. I want to order an 18lb.

Which brand do you like/don't like and why?

I wanted to order the vinyl covered KB from Perform Better (Anthony's site also sells it) however, I was wondering if the Ader is better. A RKC suggested the Dragon Door KB but it's much more money.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sue

Sue, I have all three brands that you mentioned, and all of them are great bells. You can not beat Perform Better's shipping rate, and their bells are really nice, so I personally would go that route.

Kettlebell Concepts has a downloadable PDF that compares several (but not all) kettlebell brands that may be helpful. You can access it here .

Mine are from Power Systems, and I'm very happy with them. Their warehouse is close enough to my home for me to pick up my purchases and avoid shipping charges, so that factored into my decision to buy mine there.

I have a couple of Power System bells also, and again, they're a great bell. Their shipping rates were really good when I purchased them about a year ago.

Question...does anyone remember the brand that people complained about because they said the handle was too rough? I thought that it was Power Systems but since you both love them it must be a different brand.

TIA

I think it was the Perform Better brand, but my handle isn't rough.

I have a couple Power Systems KB's (2-15lb, 2-20lb, & 1-25lb), and the handle is just fine IMHO, but I never tried another bell so I have nothing to compare to. I do wear weight-training gloves as well because I refuse to have calluses on my hands...the extra padding is soooo welcomed!

I recommend the PS Kettlebells! They're solid, the company's shipping is fast and inexpensive considering the weight of these babies, and the prices are extremely reasonable! HTH!

Thanks Stacie They also seem to have more "inbetween" sized weights which is good for weight progression.
