Walking Boots

Tiny Bubble and I have been walking at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week for the past few months. We took off last week, as the heat was giving me headaches. However, it got me to thinking about keeping this going once it gets cold. Since it often snows in NJ I was wondering what all weather boots I could use to go walking. I've got some boots that I use to run out to the mailbox and do quick trips to the store. I want some boots that will be easy to clean, comfortable, and keep my feet warm for longer walks. Also, I've got wide feet Any suggestions?

My winter hiking boots are Keen. They’re tall and fur lined. Very warm. Probably not great if you walk fast. They’re kind of chunky.

Last year I bought some Gortex shoes from Steep and Cheap for when it’s just wet outside. I think they are Reebok. They work very well for staying dry and I got them a little larger to wear with warm winter socks.

I like my Columbia Women's Ice Maiden boots. They go up to mid-calf, have proper insole for walking, hold up to snow, my feet don't get too cold, and are pretty good on ice. I try to walk outside in the winter as much as I can (unless too icy) and these fit the bill. Fourth winter in them this year!

I'm not sure that they make the exact same style anymore, but a few years ago i bought a pair of Drew hiking boots in an extra-wide width and they have held up well against upstate NY winters. Waterproof, warm and a good slip-resistant sole.

Thanks! He's really liking the time we spend together, especially since leaving my other stress filled job. Pretty soon he'll be a teenager, so I'm sucking up all the time I can lol!

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! I'm going to check them out.

I really like Merrell boots. They’re made for hiking but I have a waterproof pair that I love. They have great support and good grip/tread.
