Did you like these? I used to read more sci fi/fantasy when I was younger and have been thinking about getting back into it. I don't think I've read anything by Phillip K. Dick.

If anyone else has any sci fi recs let me know. I'm not sure what my exact tastes are, but in the past I've read Heinlein, the Dune series, Stephen R. Donaldson (probably more fantasy). I read some Greg Bear in college and recall that I didn't really like his stuff.

There's a lot more diversity in SFF now. I recommend checking out NK Jemisin, Becky Chambers, and Martha Wells.

Tor Books publishes a bunch of ebook collections of sff novellas and short stories that might be a good way to sample a variety of authors and subgenres.

I get so many recs from her podcast, especially now that she has more guests who don't just read literary fiction. The summer reading guide just came out, too.

I am reading What Happened to the Bennetts by Lisa Scottoline and will be starting Out of the Corner by Jennifer Grey.

Thanks Kate! Of course, my TBR pile is already large...and despite this, I pulled a book out of the Little Library today (Lilac Girls).

I really like PK Dick - my favorite film (Blade Runner) is based on one of his novels; any time I see that a movie is based on his work, I know it will be good. A short story collection might be a good place to start to see if his worldview is to your taste.

I second Rivercat's recommendation of NK Jemisin - her stuff is fantastic!
