Amy's upcoming kettlebell workout

Amy posted on her forum that the new kettlebell workout she will be filming will be more RKC (she is working with Phil Ross for this one) and that her plan is to become a certified RKC. She also said the Bayview one is more Renegade style.

OMG, I hope she doesn't take TOO much advice from Phil Ross!
I'm not going to be swinging a KB around with a towel, no matter who the instructor is! LOL!

I was sort of wondering whether there was a polite way to point Amy to the (uniformly) negative reviews of Phil's workout over here at VF...

At one of my kettlebell lessons, I did towel swings. It's a good way to see if you really are lifting from the hip; the kb will flop down if you're just lifting from your shoulders. I think Anthony D. has towel swings in one of his Minute of Strength videos.

Perhaps Phil is one of those people who is much better behind the camera than in front of it. Amy has a good camera presence and knows how to teach, so maybe they'll make a good team.

I practiced towel swings with my RKC instructor in several of our lessons as well. It's a great way to master the swing and make sure your form is perfect.

I don't know anything about Phil Ross or his workouts but I would never discredit him for doing towel swings. It's actually a very popular tool for mastering KB work.

I haven't done the workout, but it seems that there were a host of rather unsafe-sounding moves in this workout that Amy might not want to repeat (towel swings not withstanding).
