Meditation videos/books

So I've been getting a little into meditation. I've used pretty much only the Peloton meditation and mostly the sleep/relaxation ones. It really does help me turn my brain off and go to sleep.

Anyway, I'd like to get more into meditation for stress, eating better, fitness.

Anyone have a YouTube channel or book etc that could steer me into that direction?

The you tube channel Boho Beautiful has close to twenty lovely meditations. They also sel! a set of ten meditation downloads on their website that are not on you tube.

There are thousands on there! I use ones from yoga instructors I like.

If you like meditation combined with yoga, the dvd from Yoga Zone is really relaxing.

I've lately been exploring this one: Mindfulness an eight-week plan for finding peace in a frantic world by Mark Williams. It's a set of cds. The first talks about the program, why mindfulness matters, how to do it, etc. The second cd is 8 meditations. Over the course of the program you use those meditations to guide you into developing a practice.

So far, so good for me. I've also been reading some other things like Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy by David Burns (not linking to it because the mass market price is currently ridiculous on Amazon's marketplace but I bought one for a perfectly reasonable price at a local B&N).

Another thing I've been listening to is David Whyte's What to Remember When Waking: The Disciplines of Everyday Life. I've found it beautiful and thought provoking. Not quite actual meditation, but meditative. Not sure I could listen to this and drive the car at the same time, fyi.

My favorite book about meditating is, Wherever You Go, There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn.

I guess mindfulness is different from meditation, but this book was recently recommended to me to work on mindfulness:

The Mindfulness Solution: Everyday Practices for Everyday Problems

It has mindfulness exercises for pretty much every scenario--love life, friendships, eating, etc.

Haven't actually started it yet because I'm currently working my way through a mindfulness book specifically for anxiety.

Dawn, mindfulness is not different from meditation--it's just a specific type of meditation that can also be used more informally (ie, not necessarily sitting). It's what I usually teach and practice.

Here's a link to my YouTube meditation playlist; it's a relatively random selection:

The ones on Ekhart Yoga with Esther Teule are particularly nice.

I adore Jason Stephenson on Youtube. He has loads of material. I usually search his channel for something like "10 minute" or "stress relief." He has music only, too.
